Furthermore, you could always try using memtestx86. http://www.memtest.org/ Also, another thing you can try with the ram is placing one dimm in this way you can check the dimm slots. I tried running memtestx86, but within 30 seconds, the system rebooted itself and started the test over again and continued doing that. Bsod After Installing Windows 7
April 28, 2015 12:23:27 PM I decided to install windows 7 on my old laptop that I got from a school I no longer attend, but now when I boot I get http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1833195/blue-screen-windows-install.html BSOD (during windows 7 logo) then an instant restart, after that it loads up to the "Start windows normally or launch startup repair" screen. Using startup repair doesn't help at all and starting windows normally produces the same effect If I spam F8 while the laptop is booting I can get into the Advanced Boot Options, booting into safemode causing BSOD then http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2626499/blue-screen-death-fresh-windows-install.html restart and non of the other options stop the BSOD. If I disable automatic restart after system failure I properly see the BSOD and it gives these codes... STOP: 0x0000007B (0xFFFFF880009198E8, 0xFFFFFFFFC0000034 , 0x0000000000000000 , 0x0000000000000000) I've never en-counted an error like this, I have no idea what to do, please help Edit: Also I should mention that when I plug the laptop HDD into my desktop and boot it runs perfectly. It actually sounds like there was a problem with the install and that you should install it again. This time.. boot from the Windows 7 DVD and when you get to the screen for installing Windows, go to Advanced Options and completely DELETE the partition and then select option to format. After you do that, you can proceed with the install. That should clear up your problem. I've found that if Windows has bad file corruptio
a friend this weekend. He was paving an old HP Envy laptop (although this happens on some Dell Inspirons http://www.hanselman.com/blog/FIXEDBlueScreenOfDeathBSOD7EInHIDCLASSSYSWhileInstallingWindows7.aspx as well) and was getting a blue screen in the middle of install. Then, of course, if you're not looking at it you'll just reboot and drop back into setup and get the "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error." At this point he was in a setup loop. "HIDCLASS.SYS" is the driver that failed. HID means windows 7 Human Interface Device, and that means "keyboards or mice" for the most part. Errors in HIDCLASS.SYS, especially during setup, almost always means that there's trouble with an attached keyboard or attached mouse. I asked my buddy if he had a mouse attached and he did. He removed the mouse, and started setup over again. Setup succeeded. Then, he spent installing windows 7 about an hour (and several reboots) getting Windows 7 "gold" (which was released in July of 2009, almost 5 years ago) up to date with patches, service pack 1, and the latest drivers. Then he was able to attach his mouse and it works fine. Sponsor: Big thanks to Mindscape for joining us and sponsoring the blog feed this week!
