Bsod Error Code 7e Windows 7

a friend this weekend. He was paving an old HP Envy laptop (although this happens on some Dell Inspirons as well) and was getting a blue screen in the middle of install. Then, of course, if you're not looking at it stop 7e windows 7 you'll just reboot and drop back into setup and get the "the computer restarted unexpectedly or

encountered an unexpected error." At this point he was in a setup loop. "HIDCLASS.SYS" is the driver that failed. HID means Human Interface Device,
Bsod 0000007e
and that means "keyboards or mice" for the most part. Errors in HIDCLASS.SYS, especially during setup, almost always means that there's trouble with an attached keyboard or attached mouse. I asked my buddy if he had a mouse attached and http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/14542-63-bsod-stop-0x000050-errors he did. He removed the mouse, and started setup over again. Setup succeeded. Then, he spent about an hour (and several reboots) getting Windows 7 "gold" (which was released in July of 2009, almost 5 years ago) up to date with patches, service pack 1, and the latest drivers. Then he was able to attach his mouse and it works fine. Sponsor: Big thanks to Mindscape for joining us and sponsoring the blog feed this week! Hi Guys, I need http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/424003/stuck-in-7e-bsod-loop-cant-start-windows-at-all/ some help here. STORY 2 days ago after I closed off my laptop lid, my laptop went into hibernation mode. After that, the laptop is having some trouble trying to wake up. I remembered I saw an error message saying something like "Windows has failed to wake up from hibernation". So I have no other choices but to restart. Ever since then, I windows 7 start to get an error. STOP: 0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF880070C25C6, 0xFFFFF880009A8B78, 0xFFFFF880009A83D0) Here I attach a screenshot. http://img716.imageshack.us/im.....083504.jpg I can't get into Windows. Everytime I try, I will be presented with the blue screen of death. I tried booting in safe mode but in vain. I will get stucked at Classpnp.sys http://img259.imageshack.us/im.....085116.jpg - WHAT I HAVE DONE 1) Boot with Windows 7 CD. 2) When I am in Windows (language selection), I triggered the command prompt by doing Shift + 7e windows 7 F10. (Good trick!) 3) I realize the drive I am currently running is X: where my usual running drive C: has turned into D: and C: has turned into Recovery. Screenshot: http://img845.imageshack.us/im.....125835.jpg 4) That is not a big problem as I can change drive using simple DOS command. 5) The problem came, when I was told I can't run Chkdsk unless I dismount the drive as the volume is in used by another. All opened handles to this volume would be invalid if I force a dismount. 6) As I am tired of waiting so I force dismount it and let Chkdsk /r runs. Here I attach a photo of what I am looking at. http://img713.imageshack.us/im.....130207.jpg - - - Do you guys foresee any future problems? What happens later? Do I need to mount the drive back? If yes, how? I will update you guys my progress. Thanks, Venn. Reports: · Posted 4 years ago Top bobro Posts: 384 This post has been reported. I think you lost me a bit but that BSOD error seemed it could be a Hardware incompatability issue, hav you tried pulling some hardware? remove all but 1 stick of ram, and additional cards, or drives, boot from a USB stick, with no other peripherals? good luck Reports: · Posted 4 years ago Top Vennsoh Posts: 17 This post has been reported. It is a Compaq Presario 2500us series, and its problem is that it boots as far as the Windows XP loading screen, then I get a blue screen with a 7E STOP error for less than a second, then it loops this cycle. I WAS able to boot into safe mode, as it gave me the option before, but for some reason I can't do so anymore. When I was in safe mode, I went to check the drivers, and the Ethernet driver had an exclamation mark next to it, as did just about everything in the "other devices" section - USB, Mass media storage, etc. USB and memory card slots don't seem to work at all - however, the CD-ROM drive does work. What I have done so far is used my own Windows disc to enter Recovery mode, then done chkdsk /p, which turned up one or more disk errors. I then ran chkdsk /r, then chkdsk /p again and it did not turn up any errors that time. However, it still gives me the same 7E error loop agai
