which application crashed. Sure, it has the process name (iexplore.exe), but it has this nagging feeling that it can do better. After all, not everybody will know that "AcroRd32.exe" is "The menu for my favorite restaurant that I was looking at in Adobe Acrobat Reader". So it goes looking for a window that belongs to the thread sysfader internet explorer so it can steal the window's title and use that to help the user understand what it was that crashed. And if can't find any visible windows, it will go for invisible ones, on the theory that, "Well maybe the application crashed before it could show the window." Now let's see what happens when we apply this logic to SysFader. SysFader is a helper window used by Internet Explorer to perform fade-out animations. It really doesn't do much, but it is a window, albeit an invisible one when there are no animations in progress. SysFader happens to run on a shared worker thread. If that worker thread is being borrowed by some other background task, and that background task crashes, then when the crash dialog appears and looks around for a window to put in the title, it says "Rats, I don't have any visible windows, but I do have this invisible one, so I'll go ahead and put that one in the title bar. Better than nothing." It'

I have this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uthuIJsA6I0 sys.fader just like everyone else here. I have tried changing my settings so that everything is being used for optimal performance, i have used spybot, adaware SE, norton antivirus, symantec, EMCO malware removal, tried run->config, tried run->regedit, tried to change my settings, tried uninstalling SP2 and reinstalling it, tried looking for files in add/Remove files, tried windows 7 to get Hack This (have it on computer, but i can't open compressed files because of the sys.fader), tried a system restore (unable to restore), tried worm removal, and none of that made a dent in it. I think it came along with my SP2 files, but now it's gone beyond that i am afraid. My symantec was having issues before. I can't open control panel, many desktop items, my iexplore.exe application error computer, my pictures, my music or anything found on that file genera. I don't know what i am supposed to do with this. I even tried that guys thing about the Run=>cmd=>attrib -r -h -s c:\boot.ini, and that didn't do anything really. If anyone comes up with a solution PLEASE help me. I can only function on Firefox, iTunes, and Word Processor as of late. I can also play media files if i access them through the player and not try to get to the files themselves. I am very pissed, and i don't have the slightest bit of patience for this thing anymore. toastter, Oct 23, 2005 #151 jay2 Guest i got a problem... well i turn my computer on and it gets past the welcome screen... it loads explorer and then explorer freezes at loading my antivirus program. then i open task manager and close explorer.exe and then restart it.
