I have a brand new Inspiron 560 w/Windows 7 Home Premium desktop & Dell N5010 w/Windows 7 Home Premium. Upon startup with i/o device error windows 7 backup both of them, get a popup "DEVICE DETECTOR" w/an 'X' in a red circle. What it is? Can I do something to make it stop popping up? Posted by Donaberry on 23 Apr 2011 12:52 Hi Osprey, I went into the device mgr as you suggested & found NO drivers for this Olympus transcription program I am trying to install (see previous post about Error - DSXUSB.dll). I turned off the antivirus program & reinstalled the Olympus program & that is when the "Device Detector" message pops up so it is reasonable to assume that is where this error message is originating from? I found on an Olympus Q&A site to check the CDROM file for USB Driver (DS1) & it said to install/download from CDROM (which accomplished nothing). I even tried going into troubleshooting & downloading an older program on a newer system and that didn't work either. Maybe I should just get my boss to get me an updated CDROM & trying installation from that. Thanks for your help though. I was appreciated.
