the DCHP Client service on Local Computer - Access Denied Not all of us have hit this one, but I did today. This was a tricky one. Everything online suggested https://www.spiderwebsolutions.com.au/could-not-start-the-dchp-client-service-on-local-computer-access-denied/ it's an issue with the permissions on the registry keys for http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/452369/cannot-start-windows-firewall-or-dhcp-client-services-dds-log/ Windows. A lot suggested running sfc /scannow. But none of that was the issue here today and this may be the solution you were looking for, I know it took me some time to find it.So as usual this is the normal windows 7 Microsoft resolution:To make the permission changes in the registry, do the following:Click Start, click Run, type regedit and click OKNavigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DhcpRight click the key DHCP and click Permissions. I fired up Process Monitor from Microsoft Technet and filtered the events down to ACCESS DENIED events after taking a capture while typing in net start dhcp. The problem was with access to C:\Windows\System32\dnsapi

You must check the disk for errors before it can be restored."I scheduled a chkdsk scan for next reboot, and restarted. Afterwards, I was able to get System Restore to run. After rebooting, I received the error:"System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files and settings were not changed.Details: System Restore failed while scanning the file system on the drive C:\The drive might be corrupt. You might want to retry System Restore after running chkdsk /R on this disk.An unspecified error occurred dur
