Most SYS files allow internal PC hardware or attached hardware, such as a printer, to communicate with third-party software programs (eg. web browsers, word processors, MSDN Disc 2939) and the operating system (eg. Windows).Other SYS files are critical system files called "kernel mode device drivers" which are used to power the Windows operating system. Files such as "CONFIG.SYS" contain configuration settings and specify disk.sys download what device drivers should be loaded by the operating system. Without driver files such as disk.sys, you wouldn't be able to do simple tasks such as printing a document. Why Do I Have SYS Errors? SYS file errors are typically caused by faulty hardware or corrupt device driver files. Because of the importance of Disk.sys in the functionality of MSDN Disc 2939 and other Windows functions, any corruption or damage to this file can create critical system errors in the form of a "blue screen of death" (BSOD). Please see "Causes of Disk.sys Errors" below for more information. When Do SYS Errors Occur? had XP boot for AVID and other video programs for work. Vista was installed on C: XP on D:, I have a large disk for storage named I:, and I have a WD Raptor at R: for FSX only. About six http://www.solvusoft.com/en/files/bsod-blue-screen-error/sys/windows/microsoft/msdn-disc-2939/disk-sys/ months ago I did a major upgrade to the system, replacing the motherboard processor and ram and upgraded to the new i7 975 chip with 6GB DDR3 RAM. After this, I also upgraded to Vista compatible versions of AVID and pretty much abandonded my XP boot. About a month of setting up workarounds to deal with some memory issues that arose from FSX and Vistas new DX10 and sound acceleration, I decided to buy a copy of XP x64 w/ SP2 while https://forums.techguy.org/threads/solved-disk-sys-stop-error.894659/ I could still find it. Finally I found an outfit that sold me a copy. I reformatted the drive my original XP installation was on and installed the new x64 XP. I restore the vista boot file and I regain access to my Vista boot, but then I loose the XP boot, saying ntfsldr is missing. I look at the D: drive, and sure enough, the ntfsldr and thentsfdetect.com file are not in the D: drive. I use the XP boot disk to access the recover console, I then copied the two necessary boot files from the boot disk /i386, and now I regained access to Xp. After I started to install the chipset, sata, ethernet, and sound drivers I started getting BSOD. I reformat D:, reinstall XP, and start installing drivers without restoring the Vista boot, and I still go the same BSOD. I can boot up XP and let the computer sit, and after a while, I get the same BSOD. I know it cannot be a hardware issue, as I have never come across hardware failiures in the Vista boot, or running the very hardware intensive FSX. Regardless, I ran seagate diagnostic software checking the drive that I am trying to install XP x64 on, all pass. My memory also pass tests, and stress tests. I had the system OC'd, but I removed them and still no sucess. The following is the details of my stop error: it mentions disk.sys PAGE_FAULT_IN_N

I have a problem. I'm not sure where to post this. My younger brother's computer won't boot correctly. It will get to the loading screen with the bars, but just stays there forever. Just the moving bars and "Microsoft Corporation". I got a Vista Recovery Disk and tried to boot from the disk so windows 7 I could hopefully go into system restore or something, but it just does the same exact thing. However, randomly, twice when trying to load from disk I got a screen where I could press F8 to get more options for starting, and it took me to the screen with "Safe Mode, Safe Mode with networking, etc". So the first time I tried selecting the option "Boot from disk.sys error vista last known good configuration". Same exact thing happened. The second time I selected start in safe mode and it went to the "Loading windows files" (I think) screen. It was scrolling through a bunch of files, but then it stopped and wouldn't do anything. The last one listed on the bottom when that happened was something like " ...\ disk.sys ". That's the best I've been able to do, and cannot find out how to fix it. I have searched all over the internet (here, too) and found a few forums with similar problems, but they were never resolved. Most of what I've found are people with problems installing the OS and with crcdisk.sys (something like that). Still, I cannot figure it out. All my brother does on it is play World of Warcraft. I asked him if he installed anything or did anything recently and he said he hadn't. Please, if anyone here could help at all, it'd be greatly appreciat
