I've actually found a couple of guides on how to fix this...change the launch permissions for the app that's causing the problem (IPbusEnum) but when I try to change the launch permissions using dcomcnfg none of the options on the properties/securities tab are available (grayed out). My user has administrator permissions, I've tried launching dcomcnfg.exe by right click/click on "run as administrator" but no go. Here's the text of the error

message: The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Launch permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {C97FCC79-E628-407D-AE68-A06AD6D8B4D1} and APPID {344ED43D-D086-4961-86A6-1106F4ACAD9B} to the user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM SID (S-1-5-18) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool. The CLSID and APPID resolve to a service run under svchost (IPBusEnum). Would appreciate any pointers/hints on how to resolve this error. I've seen the tutorials but I don't know what caused my problem; I don't run any servers. https://windowsforum.com/threads/error-10016-restarting.85448/ Sometimes, it crashes without error 10016, though I think its the main problem. Microsoft seems to think it is a nusiance error. If your system is actually crashing, are you getting dump files and have you checked the BSOD forum for help? The error can be stopped by changing the access to that service and it seems to be related to the PnP IP Bus Enumerator with some remote devices, like multifunction printers. #2 Saltgrass, Oct 9, 2012 zvit Honorable MemberJoined:Nov 3, 2009Messages:2,455Likes Received:84 Check this: Event ID 10016 -- DCOM permissions error - Windows 7 Forums The posts with solutions are #4, #25, #28, #35, #38. #3 zvit, Oct 10, 2012 Noobie7er New MemberJoined:Oct 9, 2012Messages:8Likes Received:0 I don't unde

Gepubliceerd op 3 jan. 2016Ran into a lot of DCOM (DistributedCOM) errors on Windows 10 machines after upgrades. Looks like the TrustedInstaller from a previous application and the RunTime Broker did not give System and Local Administrators permission during a Windows 10 upgrade. It just an annoying thing but also slows down a windows 10 Login.Source: https://shauncassells.wordpress.com/2...http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wi...http://minhthang.name.vnDo not forget toLIKE, SHARE, SUBSCRIBEand feel free to ask me questions or discuss with everyone :] Categorie Zo-doe-je-dat en stijl Licentie Standaard YouTube-licentie Meer weergeven Minder weergeven Laden... My Toshiba L675 has been runnning fine since last summer when I bought it. Suddenly, a little over a week ago, it began "freezing" - no response to mouse or keyboard. Seemed that most commonly I had one or more IE8 windows or tabs open. Sometimes Outlook and/or Word or Excel as well. I believe it happened several times before, but more frequently after, I installled Outlook Connector, so i could manage my Hotmail account with Outlook and migrate everything from my desktop (which also has periodic "freeze" issues). I have to hard reboot in order to clear the situation. Is there a diagnostic tool or event log to indicate which process/application is causing the freeze? I am running Win 7 Home, with McAfee Antivirus Plus (which also installed about the time this became more frequent). The desktop is running WinXP.
