: NativeCommandError A specified logon session does not exist. It may already have been terminated. On the same machine, when mounting another share (sysvol) it does not fail. [client-1]: PS C:\Users\user\Documents> net use x:\\server\sysvol /User:company\username ****** The command completed successfully. If I run the same command on any client machine it does fail with the same error. If I run the same command locally on that same client (client-1) as logged on interactive user, it does not fail. called KACE support, and they can't figure this out either. The RSA is fully updated, system error 1312 has occurred net localgroup I've recreated the KBE, and still nothing. It gets a valid IP address - I've built the KBE with the "admin" system error 1312 specified logon session does not exist password that I've used for everything else. I have a couple RSA's that are doing this when booting into an x64 KBE that I made with the KBE manipulator: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/119117/rsaerror.JPG 0 Comments [ + https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/4bb8261f-7851-44b5-b3b1-b58067a0bdb0/remoting-net-use-on-dfs-share-error-1312?forum=winserverfiles ] Show Comments Comments Please log in to comment Answers 2 The password is set under Settings and Maintenance | General Settings. At the command prompt, type: notepad startnet.cmd scroll through the file and look at your net use command, the password will be after www on that line. Make sure that is the password that is set under Settings and Maintenance | General Settings. The correct syntax would be http://www.itninja.com/question/error-1312-a-specified-logon-session-does-not-exist net use y: \\10.20.18.2\peinst password /user:www password however, try this manually: net use y: \\10.20.18.2\peinst password /user:10.20.18.2\www password to see if that works. We could ping the Kace appliance, but not map a drive to it using Net Use. Today, one of our Network guys got a crazy idea. He started a continuous ping of the Kace appliance and then shut it down. You can imagine our surprise when the ping continued! Using a different computer we tried an RDP session to the IP address. It worked. Bottom line is that it was a simple IP Address conflict and shutt
been terminated. Symptom: when trying to net a network drive in a windows 7 domain network, you may receive above message, for example, net use h: \\ms-mvps\data /USER:Administrator Password. System error 1312 has occurred. A specified logon session does not exist. It may already have windows 7 net been terminated. Resolution: The drive you are trying to map needs a specified logon session even the username and password are correct. In our above case, you need to add domain username to map the drive, for example, net use h: \\ms-mvps\data /USER:chicagotech\Administrator Password. system I can map a drive using the following command easily enough to a server with a simply File Share: "net use Z: \\server1\share$ /user:DOMAIN\userA" But when I try the following command to map a network drive to a DFS share: "net use x: \\server1\dfs\share /user:DOMAIN\userA" I get the following error message: "System error 1312 has occurred. A specified logon session does not exist. It may already have been terminated." This only happens when trying to map to our DFS server, even trying to map to the root DFS. Through the "Map Network Drives" option it gives you the same error, just without the error code. The letter I'm using does not make a difference, nor does the account I'm using, as any letter or account returns the same error when trying to map to the DFS share. Nor does providing the password as part of the command line make a difference either. Nor does adding the Fully Qualified Server name such as server1.domain.edu make a difference. The system is currently not on the windows domain, but we need this to work for machines that are not part of our domain. The server is windows 2003 running a stand-alone DFS tree. Any thoughts on this? April 28th, 2010 4:29pm We've had the exact same problem. Mapping or net use to a DFS share when not logged on as a domain user doesn't work. This 1312 error seems to be something to do with passing on credentials over more than one hop. In this case the server I'm trying to connect to is Server 2008 but it and its DFS shares sit on a 2003 domain. Error occurs on mapping to DFS share, or any folders on the (non-DC) server that have DFS aliases. Shares that don't have DFS pointers on the same server work okay. See http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc779377(WS.10).aspx for more info about the policy. Also check "Error message when you try to automatically deploy agents in MOM 2005: "
