safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance. Usually when I see error 1719, I recommend that the user try to repair the Windows Installer service. However, in this case, that didn't seem to help, and I had to refer this customer to the Microsoft technical support team for further assistance. Our technical support fix windows installer windows 7 64 bit team looked at this scenario in more detail and found that there was an additional set of steps needed to repair the Windows Installer service on a 64-bit OS. Here is a complete set of steps that should allow you to repair the Windows Installer service on a 64-bit OS: Click on the Start menu, choose Run, type cmd and click OK Run this command: %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister Run this command: %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /unregister Run this command: %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver Run this command: %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /regserver Restart the computer After executing all of the above steps, you can try to re-run the failing setup and hopefully get better results. Note that this workaround is documented in this knowledge base article, but the extra steps that are needed on 64-bit operating systems are somewhat buried in the middle of that article and can be easy to miss. Leave a comment Error 1719 was quite a problem with Windows 7 and Windows 8, and it seems that it has now also ported over https://appuals.com/best-fix-steps-to-fix-error-1719-on-windows-78-and-10/ to Windows 10. Many Windows 10 users are complaining of an error stating http://solidworks.burkesys.com/2011/01/windows-installer-error-1719-windows-7-x64/ something along the lines of "The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance”, along with the error code 1719, showing up when they try to install or uninstall any programs from their computer. windows 7 If you are one of these Windows 10 users, you know exactly how aggravating not being able to install or uninstall a program from your computer can be and just how much you want to fix this problem quickly. Error 1719 can be the result of anything from the Windows Installer Service crashing and closing down or not starting up in the first windows 7 64 place to incorrectly configured or corrupted settings for the Windows Installer Service in your computer’s registry. Leave a comment I was recently trying to install SolidWorks 2011 on Windows 7 x64 and it failed. Typically I'd expect problems with XP x64, but not with Windows 7 with .Net and Windows Installer all part of the OS. Diagnosis The SolidWorks Installation Manager provided a link to the Installation Logs ( C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\SolidWorks\Installation Logs\2011 SP0 ). Looking at the latest txt file ( SummaryIMLog_20110.txt ) I saw "Installation Error 1719" and "Installation Error 1603". I also looked at the Windows Event Viewer, and saw the failed installation and the Error 1719. See image below. First Attempted Solution As Windows Installer v5 is part of Windows 7, it would not show up in Add/Remove Programs to do a repair (as I would have done for XP). Make sure that the Windows Installer service is running (Control Panel -> System and Security -> Administrative Tools -> Services) As on the SW KB, I had tried registering and reregistering Windows Installer. Command Prompt: msiexec.exe /unregister msiexec /regserver C:\Windows\Syswow64\Msiexec /regserver I even browsed directly to the SolidWorks setup (bypassing the Installation Manager), but it immediately threw up the 1719 error and stopped. Final Solution to 1719 Installation Error Start, then Run, then type regedit Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENT CONTROL SET\SERVICES\MSIserver\WOW64 Right click on WOW64, then select Modify Set Value Data to 0 (mine was set at 1) and Base should be Hexadecimal (see below image for screenshot) Close the Registry Editor Reboot the PC OR Command Prompt: net stop msiserver and net start msiserver Install SolidWorks Reference sburke How-To, Note to Remember errors, install, SW2011 Comments (15) Trackbacks (0) Leave a comment Trackback Narayanachari March 1st, 2011 at 07:03 | #1 Reply | Quote Hi Thank very much.
