Error configuring ODBC data source: MS Access Database" Posted on 2005-02-20 MS Office 1 Verified Solution 9 Comments 2,955 Views Last Modified: 2008-01-09 I windows 7 have just installed Office 2000 Premium on a notebook running Windows XP Home with SP2. Whenever I try to open an Access database, and also occasionally at seemingly random times, Windows suddenly decides to start installing Office again and demands the CD. If I insert the CD, it grinds a bit, then gives me the "Error 1919. Error configuring ODBC data source: MS Access Database" dialog. I have tried the recommended odbc windows 7 solutions for this error I found here and on the Microsoft site without luck. I tried downloading the latest MDAC and Jet drivers, but they won't run on my computer, apparently because of SP2. I then tried installing older JET/MDAC versions, but that had no effect on the problem. I also tried applying the registry changes described in a previous question asked about this same error, but again, no improvement. No Corel software has been installed or uninstalled on this computer, so the "blame Corel's uninstaller" gambit doesn't apply. (FYI, I will not consider reformat/reinstall an answer.) 0 Question by:billmercer Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 33 Best Solution byroos01 Im not sure if you tried this: from: http://www.dbforums.com/t707512.html Try executing the command c\windows\system32\odbcconf /F with *.rsp files in the same folder. perhaps using startup switches Go to Solution 9 Comments LVL 33 Overall: Level 33 MS Office 8 Message Expert Comment by:roos012005-02-21 You might take a look at: "Error 1919.
