post has been reported. Hi, I have trouble with my VPN connection. I have laptop with Windows 7 Prof. 32bit erreur 789 l2tp windows 7 + Wireless connection. Before Windows 7, I have on my Laptop Windows XP and VPN connection worked perfectly. VPN type is L2TP/IPSec and I have valid certificate. Every time, when I want connect https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/926179 VPN connection in my remote location, respond with error 809 and this mean: ''The network connection between your computer and the VPN server could not be established because the remote server is not responding. This could be because one of the network devices (e.g., firewalls, NAT, routers, etc.) between your computer and the remote server is not configured to allow VPN connections. Please contact your Administrator http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/vpn-error-809 or your service provider to determine which device may be causing the problem. '' OK, before we start with troubleshooting, you must to know, I tried almost everything. - IPv6 is turned off, but VPN still don't works - RegEdit (Microsoft web page: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926179) - Firewall is turned off - Started Services : IPSec Policy Agent, Routing and Remote Access I have VMware Player with Windows XP on my local machine, and VPN connection on WMVare Player work perfectly, but on local machine, VPN connection respond error 809. Maybe someone has any idea what else can try? Reports: · Posted 5 years ago Top rockallite Posts: 2 This post has been reported. Try this. I fixed a similar problem through it. 1. Run "regedit", allocate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\Parameters, and delete ProhibitIpSec key. 2. Restart Windows, and try to connect VPN again. Reports: · Posted 5 years ago Top rockallite Posts: 2 This post has been reported. BTW, I used a preshared key instead of a certificate in L2TP connection. After applying the above tweak, I turned off "IPSec Policy Agent" & "IKE and AuthIP IPsec Keying Modules" services, and L2TP connection still worked without error 809. R
default, Windows 7 and the Windows Server 2008 operating system do not support Internet Protocol security (IPsec) network address translation (NAT) Traversal (NAT-T) https://vkelk.wordpress.com/2012/10/28/windows-72008-error-809-l2tp-vpn/ security associations to servers that are located behind a NAT https://documentation.meraki.com/MX-Z/Client_VPN/Troubleshooting_Client_VPN device. Therefore, if the virtual private network (VPN) server is behind a NAT device, a Windows 7-based VPN client computer or a Windows Server 2008-based VPN client computer cannot make a Layer Two Tunneling Protocol (L2TP)/IPsec connection to the VPN server. This windows 7 scenario includes VPN servers that are running Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Microsoft Windows Server 2003. Update: Also applies to Windows 8.1 connecting to a L2TP VPN running on a Windows Server 2012 R2 Because of the way in which NAT devices translate network traffic, you may experience unexpected results l2tp windows 7 when you put a server behind a NAT device and then use an IPsec NAT-T environment. Therefore, if you must have IPsec for communication, it is recommended that you use public IP addresses for all servers that you can connect to from the Internet. However, if you have to put a server behind a NAT device and then use an IPsec NAT-T environment, you can enable communication by changing a registry value on the VPN client computer and the VPN server. To create and configure the AssumeUDPEncapsulationContextOnSendRule registry value, follow these steps: Log on to the Windows 7 client computer as a user who is a member of the Administrators group. Click Start, point to All Programs, click Accessories, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK. If the User Account Control dialog box is displayed on the screen and prompts you to elevate your administrator token, click Continue. Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\PolicyAgent On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWOR
