In win 7 ultimate. If I try to open computer management I get two event errors." MMC has detectid an error in a sape in and will unload it." it attempts to unload it and continue running. Then I get 2 "Unhandled exception in managed code snap in" windows. FX:{b05566ae-fe9c-4363-be05-7a4cbb7cb510} Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.ManagementConsole, Version=3.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The module was expected to contain an assembly manifest. Exeption type System.BadImageFormatException Computer management will then run but I but some functions are unusable. Also it will not access Task scheduler. I have created a new admin account and it is the same so I do not think it is a corrupt user profile. I have also run SFC and still no luck. Sounds like it is time for a repair install but I would like to avoid that. Oh and a few system restores. Thank you for your time Calvin Edited by Calvinder, 24 August 2012 - 10:10 AM. Has Detected An Error In A Snap-in And Will UnloadIt December 19, 2012September 9, 2013 Naz Windows Server 2008 R2Fixes, Windows https://emeneye.wordpress.com/2012/12/19/quick-fix-mmc-has-detected-an-error-in-a-snap-in-and-will-unload-it/ Server I wrote a post only a few days ago how http://superuser.com/questions/332545/how-do-i-resolve-the-mmc-cannot-initialize-the-snap-in-error-in-windows-7 I combined a few MMC snap-ins in a console for easier access in one place. Well, today I started experiencing a problem where an error message such as the one produced below would randomly pop up while using the console. A quick search on Google seemed to windows 7 suggest this problem does not affect 32-bit snap-ins and so with that in mind I used a Run command to launch the console with 32-bit snap-ins. And sure enough 32-bit snap-ins works just fine and I haven't seen that error pop up again. I then opted to create a shortcut on my desktop to launch the console instead. Here's windows 7 mmc what I used for the shortcut: mmc.exe "%systemdrive%:\Users\%username%\Desktop\Server Management Console.msc" /32 It’s more a workaround than a fix but hey, it works!
