(Example: free3of9 fromhttp://www.barcodesinc.com/free-barcode-font/, or a set of https://www.fonts.com/support/faq/valid-font-error fonts fromhttp://www.idautomation.com/). I see several similar questions to this on this forum and others, but they all end with advice that has not worked for me. I understand there are several ways to install fonts in Windows 7. I've probably tried them all now (right-click and Install, Install from Control https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/eb2a17e7-5309-4c27-8a48-6b7f33157665/cannot-install-ttf-fonts-on-my-windows-7-pc?forum=w7itprogeneral Panel / Fonts, and drag and drop). I've also tried some of the advice I've seen in this forum (turn off UAC, try to install as built-in Administrator account). Still, all I ever get is: Cannot Install ....TTF The file ... does not appear to be a valid font) Why won't Windows 7 recognize these true-type fonts? Thanks! I then emailed that font in a zip file to be installed on another machine that runs Windows 7. When I open the font and click the install button, I get the following error message: The file name "C:\Use...\charlottesanscom-book (2).ttf" does not appear to be a valid font Does anyone have fonts windows 7 step-by-step instructions on how to fix this problem? installation fonts share|improve this question edited Apr 25 '14 at 18:28 HopelessN00b 1,82031527 asked Jan 18 '10 at 16:45 Jake migrated from serverfault.com Jan 18 '10 at 20:03 This question came from our site for system and network administrators. Ensure that it works fine on one computer. What OS is the first computer? To avoid this, don't install different types of fonts with the same name. • If a program is open when you install a font, the program might not register the font. Try closing and then reopening the program. • Some fonts require that you install

However, despite having an administrator account, and setting permissions to write files etc. I cannot save the fonts to my fonts file in the control panel. When I right click there is no install option or properties. Install is only shown when I am clicked on a font through font viewer that is already in the folder. When I open the new font folders (at present on my desktop) I get all the options for permissions but when I try to drag and drop them in the font folder it tells me it 'does not appear to be a valid font'.Any advice would be appreciated. Re: Installing fonts, Windows 7 Preran Dec 19, 2011 12:32 AM (in response to skinklet4) Extract from the Microsoft siteIf you run into issues with installing fonts, the first thing to investigate is whether you are actually allowed to do this. You need to have write access to the Fonts folders to be able to install fonts. Without this an error message will appear that states that the file you are trying to install ‘is currently being used and cannot be replaced' or that it ‘does not appear to be a valid font'. Solutions and work-arounds can be found in this thread. 1 person found this helpful Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2.
