I'm running this on a Win7x64 machine with the Win7 WAIK installed. Here's the contents of http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/150634-error-87-when-using-win7-waik-on-vistax64-source/ my batch file containing the commands.dism /mount-wim /wimfile:C:\WinVistax64\sources\install.wim /index:1 /mountdir:c:\wimdism /image:c:\wim /add-package /packagepath:C:\ie9\vistax64\ie9-Vista.cabfor %%g in (c:\vistax64Updates\*.msu) do dism /Image:c:\wim /Add-Package /PackagePath:%%gdism /unmount-wim /mountdir:c:\wim /commitHowever when I run this bach file I get the following error message for each .msu file plus the .cab file:Error: 87An error occurred while processing the command. For more information, review the log files. The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.logI've also tried to integrate the msu files using 7Customizer .5.0 and got the same results.Any ideas what's going on? I downloaded the msu files from Microsoft's site so they should be fine. If you are using Vista RTM, you need the Vista WAIK. Also try manually running without the batch file (or check the DISM.log) to see where the error is and what it is specifically.
 ricktendo 2 Group: Banned Members 2 2,260 posts June 7, 2006 OS: Windows 7 x64 Country: Posted March 28,

Please be sure i exhausted my options before bothering y'all (: I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit running on a Laptop. It all started when i was trying to update as normal and the progress bar stayed at 0% forever, first i deleted the "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution" contents and retried, no luck. Then i ran the sfc /scannow command and got "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation" So i kept looking and read that it could be some issue with the TrustedInstaller service and how it starts so i tried starting it.. then i tried running it from cmd.. "System Error 1064", so it seems it might be corrupted, then i installed and ran the Window Update Readiness Tool, i ran the /Scanhealth without problem, but when trying /Checkhealth or /Restorehealth it returns "Error 87" I checked the CheckSur.log and found issues with some packages in C:\Windows\Servicing\Packages, specifically this files: Checking Windows Servicing Packages Checking Package Manifests and Catalogs (f) CBS MUM Corrupt 0x00000000 servicing\Packages\Microsoft-Windows-IE-Hyphenation-Parent-Package-English~31bf3856ad
