printers that are generating the errors. I downloaded and installed the Windows 2008 64bit drivers from the HP site. I did check on the downloads page for Windown 2008 R2 drivers but there are none. I have not had any reports that actual printing is failing but it would be nice to get rid of the errors in the Event Viewer. Any suggestions appreciated.I.T. The other P3005 & p2015n were using the drivers I had downloaded from HP. I switched the drivers on the P3005 so now all 3 printers using downloaded HP drivers rather than the embedded ones and the roors have stopped. the embedded drivers are supplied by HP too but there must be a bug in them somewhere.I.T. I assumed you added the drivers included in Windows 7 at some point. Printisolationhost is the process that handles driver rendering and most driver functions. This way the print driver functions will not kill the spooler process and other printers are not impacted by faulting print drivers. The hpzuiwn7.dll is the file included in Windows 7 and 2008 R2. From the name I'll assume this is the UI modul

We have to restart the spool services more often than normal (once or twice a week) and in reviewing the event viewer I came across this. If you are, you may find a new feature of the upcoming next version of Windows interesting: printer driver isolation. Some Background In the dark ages of NT4 printer drivers were kernel drivers. From a reliability standpoint, that was a nightmare. Since printer drivers are not, have never been and probably will never be famous for stability, errors in printer driver code caused the computer to bug check (i.e. present the frustrated admin with a blue screen of death, BSOD). Windows 2000 brought the major improvement of so-called version 3 drivers which are executed in user mode (although, for compatibility reasons, version 2 kernel mode printer drivers can still be used even today). Version 3 drivers are implemented as DLLs which are loaded by the print spooler (spoolsv.exe) whenever a specific driver is required in order to process a print job. So far so good.
