BDE Error - Operation network initialization failed pdoxusrs.net windows 7 not applicable There are two possible causes:There are old *.lck files in the shared pdoxusrs.lck download network directory. The .NET file is corrupt. To fix either, make sure all users, including yourself, are out of The database bde administrator windows 7 64 bit and Paradox. In Windows Explorer, browse to the shared network directory.Open the directory and check for the two files 'Paradox.lck' and 'Pdoxusrs.lck'. If either or both are present, delete them. Open the directory and bde administrator windows 10 check for the file 'Pdoxusrs.net'. Delete it. If you get a message "access is denied", have all database users restart their pc's then try deleting the file above again, if it is still present. NOTE: The 'Pdoxusrs.net' file will recreate itself when the first user logs back in. It is normal for this file to be present even when no user is in the database. During BDE Installation,

the Error Message "Merging the Configuration File has Failed" Occurs Summary During BDE installation, InstallShield Express displays the error message "Merging the configuration file has failed". Discussion InstallShield Express includes with your BDE setup a configuration file called Idapi32.cnf. (For a 16-bit setup, this file is named Idapi.cnf.) During installation, InstallShield Express copies this file to a temporary location, and then adds to it the settings you chose in the BDE Alias dialogs. If there exists no BDE on the target system, then InstallShield Express simply saves the Idapi32.cnf file to the default BDE directory as Idapi32.cfg. However, if the target machine already has BDE on it (and so has a preexisting Idapi32.cfg file), InstallShield Express then calls the BDE Merge function to merge the Idapi32.cnf file with the existing Idapi32.cfg file, thereby adding your setup's BDE aliases and settings to those already on the target system. There are several possible reasons why the message "Merging the configuration file has failed" will be displayed during BDE setup: The target machine's preexisting Idapi32.cfg file is set to read-only or is in any other way inaccessible. This will cause BDE's Merge function to fail. InstallShield Express finds the existing IDAPI configuration file by reading its cu

On the main form there is a DataSource1: TDataSource; and a Table1: TTable; In OnFormShow the table filename is set to: TableFilename := IncludeTrailingPathDelimiter( MyProfileFolder ) + 'Delphi 2009\Projects\Adirondack Lake Maps\' + 'TITLES.DB'; Table1.Active := False; Table1.TableName := TableFilename; Table1.Active := True; When running the app I get: EDBEngineError-Network Initialization Failed Permission Denied File C:\PDOXUSERS.NET Directory: c:\ Questions: How bde administrator windows do I set the correct path to PDOXUSERS.NET? This is a simple application that stores scanned lake maps in a database and displays information about the lake in a few fields. In the past I used to use the BDE. What is the simplest database access component to use to replace the BDE and where can I learn more about this? There are a lot of database engines now for Delphi 2009 I do not know where to start. More info I am running Delphi 2009 on Vista. delphi bde paradox share|improve this question edited May 15 '13 at 9:26 ChrisF♦ 97.8k17172255 asked Jan 12 '09 at 16:38 Bill add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 6 down vote Add a TSession component to your project. Set its NetFileDir property to a location that is writable by normal users, such as the common appdir folder. The pdoxusers.net file will be stored there instead. For more, see a newsgroup post on comp.lang.pascal.delphi.misc. This has nothing to do with Delphi 2009 and everything to do with Windows Vista and its more stringently enforced user permissions. If you're looking for an alternative to the BDE, start with the BDE Alternatives Guide. (It says it has a new home, but it doesn't.) share|improve this answer edited
