Rdeploy Windows 7 Boot Error

with XP. First time poster. We use a thumb drive to DOS boot IPX to Novell network then use Rdeploy on server to upload/download images for each machine. Never had an issue until Windows 7 came along (we skipped Vista). Now when we download what should be a working image of Windows 7, it fails to boot and asks for a repair disk. We have set it up with and without the small rescue partition with no luck. We have dynamic static IP addressing on network so redeploy connects IPX. Does redeploy 7 work any better? Are there switches I should be using? Thanks elhuevon, https://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/win-7-rdeploy-images Dec 7, 2009 #1 exertismenos New Member me too I've been having this problem also. Did you ever figure out what's causing the Altiris created image to puke when it's laid back down? I'm also having problems with creating a default profile with Windows 7 the way I did with XP. Did you use the WAIK tool to create an autounattend.xml file or did you figure a way around Microsoft forcing us http://www.altirigos.com/forums/threads/rdeploy-6-9-windows-7-boot-error.12015/ to use sysprep? Thanks. exertismenos, Dec 11, 2009 #2 elhuevon New Member exertismenos said: ↑ I've been having this problem also. We usually just do fresh install of xp with a winnt.sif then go from there. elhuevon, Dec 14, 2009 #3 Nick Altiris/AppSense Guru exertismenos said: ↑ I've been having this problem also. I recently setup a WDS for Windows XP and Windows 7 thanks to a few of your users here, and Microsoft Documentation - and since that is all 100% working now, I'm taking on my next task :).I'm just trying to think the best way of doing what I normally do:1. Boot from USB2. Run rdeploy windows 7 .batI was thinking I could capture an image once I have formatted the system through my usual method of USB - but not to sure if this will work as a number of applications are requested to start on 1st Boot etc. Thanks,Jack Monday, January 25, 2010 5:31 AM Reply | Quote All replies 0 Sign in to vote Hi Jack, I am not clear why you would like to use a USB to capture the image now that your WDS can work properly. Please use the standard WDS process to capture the image. Now I recently have setup WDS (and successfully at that thanks to you guys :
anyone have an idea about rdeploy in Altris.I am getting an error message " Disk not found" when i try to push the package to server in Altris ! Answers 0 Hi. Altiris Rdeploy is used to deploy disk images (operating systems), not applications. Use Altiris Rinstall (or Wise Packager) to create packages and the "Distribute Software" task in Altiris Deployment Console. I meant installing the image of the Win2003 operating system through Altris.Package i meant the OS. I use rapid install for packaging its not an issue. I have created base images of the for each server model which i have.,The problem occurs when i assign thejob to execute the installation of thebase image. Does it work if you run Rdeploy manually (selecting the image and disk)?
