Everything works fine when performing a "clean" install for the first time on a computer. However, after this first, clean installation, if I try to run the installation again to perform a re-install or an uninstall, the installation finds left-over MSI files on the computer and fails. Everytime, on a subsequent installtion, https://community.flexerasoftware.com/showthread.php?122373-Internal-Error-2755-1601-HELP I get an internal error. And, I don't know why. The error is: Internal Error 2755. 1601, C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINS~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\_isA\RegPerfect.msi Attached is a Word doc (in a .zip file) containing a screenshot of the error. If I go and manually delete these stranded MSIs, then I can usually perform a subsequent installation. The problem is that the failure occurs half-way in the installation process, thereby leaving the computer in a messed-up state (i.e., some things installed, some things not installed, some things in some other wacked state). I've search endlessly on InstallShield's web site and other Internet places for the meaning of this error and what causes it and how to fix it, but NOTHING. AND, IT IS NOT THE SUPPOSED ERROR WHEN THERE IS A CORRUPT VERSION OF WINDOWS INSTALLER AS DESCRIBED IN KB Article Q107137 (http://support.installshield.com/kb/...icleid=q107137). It's a totally different error, error code, etc. What is wrong? Why does this error happen? What needs to be done so that it does NOT happen? What needs to be done so that no matter how many times I run our installation this error never happens? following error installing .NET Framework 1.1. Product: Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 -- Internal Error 2755. 1601, C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\IXP000.TMP\netfx.msi System is Win 2000 Server with gigs of memory. It's a development server with SQL 2000, VB5, VB6 but no .Net Framework or anything .Net. I've been the morning searching the web and newsgroups trying anything that remotely relates to this error but none are exactly the same. This is failing on stopping services for iisadmin. I've even stopped iisadmin manually. The Netfx.log has the following which is concerning. I re-regester it even though this install loaded it from the URTCore.cab file.
