"NewDialog" to create anther dialog, when I click the "Back" button at the new dialog, I got internal error 2856 : Creating a second copy of the dialog. Thanks Eric https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa372835(v=vs.85).aspx NewsArchive09-02-1999, 12:00 AMThe reason is that your error sdialog is probably spawned which means that the previous dialog is never released, so when you click next to go to the next dialog and then back on that dialog, the installer tries to create the dialog that was never released and you get that error. I would recommend using new dialog http://community.installshield.com/archive/index.php?t-71508.html to show the error dialog and then have the NO button act as a back button to the previous dialog and the yes button show you the Next dialog. You can still have the back button on the last dialog skip over the message dialog and go back to the original dialog. -- David Thornley Lead Developer Support Engineer InstallShield Software Corporation http://www.installshield.com Eric Liu wrote in message <37cec875.0@news.installshield.com>... >I have a custom dialog to collect infomation, if the information is wrong, I >would like to display a prompt dialog "something is wrong, do you want to >continue?", if "Yes" is clicked, continue to another dialog, if "No" is >clicked, stay on that dialog. The typical error message will look something like this, with the name of .ipi file generally being the main difference:Internal Error 2203. C:\WINDOWS\Installer\44f602.ipi, -2147287035This error is a result of a Windows setting or problem with the Windows operating system. The following suggestions will generally allow you to resolve this error and to install the software properly: Determine if it is an installation error that is specific to National Instruments(NI) software by attempting to open a non-NI Microsoft MSI installer. Most Microsoft software uses MSI installers (i.e. MS Office). If the same error occurs, it may be an operating system error. Try copying the entire contents of the installation CD onto the target computer's hard drive. Run the installation Setup file from the hard drive. The installation should complete normally.
