of cells, e.g. adding several lines in one cell, adding pages, inserting row. If I save document after every small operation (e.g. adding several words to one cell and save it), then error does not appear. I obtained similar error with Open Office. I use Windows Vista x86 platform. How to avoid this error? It is quite old issue, possibly I missed libre office answer somewhere. Usually if I have described bug (say in file A.ods), then I create temp.ods. Then copy/paste changes to temp.ods. Close A.ods without saving, close temp.ods saving changes. Then I open A.ods, add content from temp.ods back. After this I save changes in A.ods exactly in the same location without issues.sergtk( 2014-08-30 14:36:40 +0200 )editI get the same issue with no discernable cause. Error, This File Could Not Be Written Discuss the spreadsheet application Post a reply 8 posts • Page 1 of 1 [Solved] Write Error, This File open office Could Not Be Written by Vexed » Sat Apr 02, 2011 1:51 am I've constructed a spreadsheet with 20+ inter-related sheets. I routinely retrieve data from an external source that is then copied into the spreadsheet and used to automatically update the rest of the sheet. With increasing frequency I am receiving the subject error message. When this happens all http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/39048/write-error-when-trying-to-save-calc-document/ of the edits that I've made during the current session are lost because I have to close the spreadsheet without saving it. This problem seems to occur mostly (maybe even exclusively) after a session where I downloaded external data. But I am not entirely sure of that point. Are there any adjustments that I might make to the way the http://ooo-forums.apache.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39813&p=183003 spreadsheet operates (memory usage, caches, etc) that might eliminate this problem from occurring? Any theories on why I am experiencing this problem? Thanks. Last edited by Vexed on Mon Apr 04, 2011 11:07 pm, edited 1 time in total. If I had such a problem I'd turn off background virus checking to see if that improved the situation.
