Adobe Reader Erreur 109
My workflow uses FM10 and Acrobat Pro to create .pdfs for sending out to clients. Just had a 'phone call from someone saying he can't open the .pdfs any more, even though he's been using them for a while. Acrobat Pro X brings up the bookmarks list, but then displays the message "There was an error processing this page. There was a problem reading this document adobe reader download error (109)."Any idea where the problem lies and what to do about it? I suspect it may be file-corruption at the client's end, but I'd welcome confirmation before telling him so! 28771Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Show 3 replies 1. Re: "Error 109" in files returned by customer Bill@VT Jul 9, 2014 7:23 AM (in response to FieryPantone) Did you send these PDFs by e-mail? If so, did you check to be sure they were encoded? Sometimes e-mail clients see PDFs as text and they are not, they are binary. A few years ago there were also issues with Outlook treating PDFs incorrectly, even if properly sent. I don't remember the details on that one. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. Re: "Error 109" in files returned by customer Rave Jul 9, 2014 7:39 AM (in response to FieryPantone) Hi Niels,Chances are, if you are seeing error 109 when opening a PDF file, the file is corrupt. If you downloaded the file, try downloading it again. If you created the file yourself, try creating it again from the original source. That may be all you need to do to solve

Reporting Services (SSRS) to generate the PDF files. I am running on Windows 7 using Microsoft SQL 2012. I've installed the following SQL hot fix adobe reader error 1310 that fixed issues with generating some PDF files: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2645648.I am using Adobe Reader XI version 11.0.06.70 to view the PDFs. When the user wants to view a report we copy the PDF file to the user's temporary directory and open Adobe Reader (or https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1518043 whatever is the registered PDF viewer) to view the report. If the user wants to keep a copy of the report they do a Save As and save wherever they want. The file being in the temporary directory is not part of the issue. It is a problem wherever the file is located. With a small percentage of the reports, they always get the error trying to save the document. I haven't been able to determine any differences in the reports that work or don't work. https://answers.acrobatusers.com/How-can-I-fix-this-error-The-document-could-not-be-saved-There-was-a-problem-reading-this-document-109-q145927.aspx I've looked all over the internet but haven't found any answer besides "download the file again". This doesn't work. I've tried another PDF viewer and Save As works fine.I would love to be able to solve this or at least determine if it is an Adobe or Microsoft issue. I would love to send a PDF file that has this issue so we can move forward with finding a solution. At this point we are going to tell our customers to install and use the alternate PDF viewer. Jeff LeBert 3 Answers Voted Best Answer Edit Answer (for another -14 minute) After looking at the file created by SSRS, it's clear that the file was created corrupt: The cross-reference table has an entry to an object that does not exist. The file can be repaired by using e.g. pdftk, but the right course of action would be to report this to Microsoft and have them fix their PDF output routine. Try that, and report back with what the detailed error message says. We the general public need a solution to this problem. If the file is pulled of a web server and the file is corrupt well that's not our problem, we still need to be able to pull the file edit as needed and save it. Saving it locally, renaming it still does not solve the problem. We need a solution, someone must have a workaround.
