9:06 AM by Rigel_1942 Error 1406 (Amanda_Gor) Mar 21, 2008 11:34 AM I've tried to download Adobe Reader 8.1.2 numerous times and ways now, but it keeps coming up with the same message; Error 1406. Could not write value installed to key \SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\ OptionalComponents\MSFS. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, adobe reader download error or contact your support personnel. I have Windows Vista on my laptop, and used to have an older version of Adobe Reader until I decided to update it and in turn erased the old file and the new one is not installing correctly. I went through the various solutions; taking down my firewall, downloading the Acrobat ACL repair utility, and I just can't figure out how to get it to install. Thank you for your time.
