Bde Error 13059 Informix
the ODBC driver Informix 3.34 32 Bit. If I test the ODBC driver connection with the Unix Server containning the Informix Database all is ok. I have created a new informix alias with the BDE Amministrator (rel 5.01) which uses the Informix ODBC driver. Every time that I try to open the informix alias with the Database Desktop ( rel. 7.0) I get such an error : [Informix][Informix ODBC Driver][Invalid string or buffer lenght ...] Could some one tell me how to solve such a problem ? This systems works with Delphi 7 + BDE 5.0.1.22 + Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.4.0. Everithing was going fine till the user decides to create an user in Oracle with a name that uses bde error 13059 the character "g". BDE shows an error, with the messages: General SQL error. (BDE Error 13059) ORA-01012: not logged on (BDE Error 13059 -- Server error 1012) I've made changes in language driver of BDE to these ones, among others: 'ascii'ANSI Borland PTG Latin-1 ... This problem does not occour when i use dbExpress components (Oracle Driver) or dbGo (ADO Ole DB Oracle Driver) components. I need to be shure that this problem is a real or if there is some configuration to be done. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create an alias on BDE Administrator to an Oracle Database. 2. Create an user on Oracle, with special characters, like "userwithgcharacter". 3. Try to log on Oracle using this user and using an application BDE-Aware line BDE Administrator, SQL Explorer for instance. Workarounds Didn't find any till now, except creating the user without the special character. Solved "Database Engine Error" Cannot Locate or Connect to SQL Database Posted on 2008-08-08 MS SQL Server SBS 1 Verified Solution 10 Comments 4,368 Views Last Modified: 2008-08-25 Why is my BDE database not able to connect to my running SQL server on SBS2003? I have SBS 2003 SP1 with Windows server 2003 sp1 (it will not allow me to upgrade to SP2 becuase it errors in "cannot find file neccessary..." halfway through the install) Today the computer rebooted on it's own (unknown reason) and when it came back up almost all features of the server (exchange filesharing, DC) worked. SQL even says it is running fine with no errors. NEvertheless when I try to connect the BDE database to SQL it gives me these error numbers: 11277 [$2C] [$ D] 13059 [$33] [$ 3] SQL Error - 10004 "accessÿá’|_Þöw" I am not a database person at all but I have swam through this in the past with other customers. Immediate help would be great! 0 Question by:Duncan007 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 9 Best Solution bymichaelaknight If you are able to create a BDE<->SQL connection from scratch and it works, examine what is different between your new connection (above) and the existing one (not working).
