I have taken the following steps: rebuild, dbtcheck, and BR7's Cleans. All failed. all almost totaly clean out the dbt file. Dbtcheck reports close to 60,000 errors in dbt. We have backups but the most recent one contains the corruption. Older backups will cause the loss of a month's history. Otherwise GoldMine would complain about read problems with other files before conthist. One thing you can try (after following GMGenius's advice re verifying the files exist) is to try doing Maintenance from GoldMine's startup screen. After entering your password on the startup screen, hold down the ctrl and shift keys while you click OK. You should see a list of GoldMine contact sets. Right-click and choose the option to "Maintain" and then fo
Taucher QUESTION ------------------------------------------------------ Corrupt file - other than header. Tried rebooting all the remote terminals to re-sync but no change. One machine shuts down with this error but the rest just click 'ok' and can keep using. ANSWER ------------------------------------------------------ Index Does Not Exist Errors You've got a multi-user GoldMine on your network and somehow they freeze. Windows says an illegal operation has occurred and you had to shut down. You pull GoldMine back up again and it asks you to rebuild the database. You say OK and then you get the following error: Index does not exist What to do? Follow these steps: 1. Backup GoldMine 2. Delete the Syslog.mdx index file. Note that this file does not contain actual data, but only pointers to them. 3. Login to GM4 by clicking on OK while holding down the CTRL key. This should prompt you with the Contact Listing Window (you must have Master Rights to do this). 4. Click on Maintain on the bottom left of the window which prompts the GoldMine maintenance wizard. 5. Select Individual Files, , check 'System Logs' from the list, , , . To only Reindex the file do not select the option for 'rebuild/pack.' If the issue appears to be username specific, then rename the username.ini (i.e. James.ini) located in the root directory of GoldMine, then log back into GoldMine using the same username which will recreate a brand new .ini file. All user specific settings must be set again. > Corrupt file - other than header. > > Context: appendRecord > G:\Gmbase\SysLog > > 1: File: G:\GMBASE\SYSLOG.MDX > > BDE Error Cat:Code: [35:2] > BDE: 500 [4/11/1999] GoldMine: 6.00.30503 > > User: CHRIS > Window: Contact Search Center > > Template: > Details: > FILENAME: G:\GMBASE\SYSLOG.MDX > > This error keeps popping up every 30 seconds making it near impossible to read email and access our contacts.
