Bde Error Could Not Find Object
the SQL Explorer anymore. I get this error : "Could not find object" Could you help me, I did try to reinstall the BDE but the error is still there. Laurent Bill Tod Delphi Developer Tue, 11 Jan 2005 01:08:45 GMT Re:BDE Error - Could not find object Check this registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Borland\Database Engine\Settings\DRIVERS\ to see if the database drivers listed there contains any duplicates. If there are duplicates remove them. If this doesn't help create a completely new BDE config file On Thu, 25 Jul 2002 10:49:00 -0400, "Laurent Devigne" Quote
ODBC to an Interbase DB on a remote server. Whilst doing this I seem to have messed up the BDE installation. When I try to run BDE Administrator I get the message 'Could not find object' error 8712 and all of the aliases have gone from the Databases tab. I've tried re-installing Delphi completely but the problem persists. I guess it's a registry problem but I don't know where to start. Also, any tips on setting up ODBC to access Interbase 4 on a Linux server would be very much appreciated. Thanks Alan bang Delphi Developer Wed, 18 Jun 1902 08:00:00 GMT Re:BDE 'Could not http://www.delphigroups.info/2/af/327069.html find object' Before you reinstall BDE, you should remove the item from registry. try to run regedit on your dos command, click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, click software, then you will find Borland , database engine, if you delete this item: Database engine, reinstall will be successful. However you need to reset all aliases names after installation. --Bangh QuoteAlan wrote: > This question is related to D4 running under Windows NT 4. > I was recently trying to http://www.delphigroups.info/2/3a/35235.html set up ODBC to an Interbase DB on a > remote server. Hi, I have found some information in www.carpediemets.com BDE 2208 Could not find object Solution: Make sure the Database client software is installed on the workstation. Try connecting to the database using the client software outside of Carpe Diem. If you can connect, your SQL client installation is working correctly. Attempt to connect to a SQL database using another applications that uses SQL. If you can connect, your SQL server installation is working correctly. Verify the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE; Software; Borland; Database Engine. Make sure that the mappings listed are correct and pointing to IDAPI.CFG (16-bit) or IDAPI32.CFG (32-bit). If the file is named IDAPINEW.CFG, update the registry to reflect the correct file name. Try to connect from another workstation. Open BDEAdmin from the workstation and verify that the database driver is listed under Configuration; Drivers; Native. Restore the IDAPI32.CFG file from backup. Try reinstalling the BDE. Verify the size of the IDAPI32.CFG file is not 1 KB. If it is, restore a backup copy. Hope these will solve ur problem Cheers, .P pnukes View Public Profile Send a private message to pnukes Visit pnukes's homepage! Find all posts by pnukes « Previous Thread | Next Thread » Th
