a TTable component Problem: When issuing a 'post' via a TTable in Delphi into a table I get the "Record/Key deleted" error message. Solution: **** This is just an internal reference do not send or post **** The information in this article applies to: * InterBase v4.x bde error 8712 * InterBase v5.x * Delphi 1.x, 2.x, 3.x, 4.x The problem is that the BDE is trying to retrieve a row based upon a primary key that the application is supplying which does not exist yet thus, it returns the error. To work around this you must: 1) Create an Execute Procedure to return the newly generated value. 2) Use that value in your post method. There are many examples of this on the internet. Please see Rob Scheick's, Dunstan Thomas or the Inprise website for the solution. Copyright© 1994 - 2013 Embarcadero Technologies, Inc. All rights reserved. get error message. What would help? David Sweene Delphi Developer Wed, 18 Jun 1902 08:00:00 GMT Re:TTable - "Record/Key deleted" If your table key is an autoincrement field, when the record is deleted, the BDE loses it's pointer to the record causing the BDE to think someone else deleted the record. What has happened is there was either a collision of packets on the network or some one turned the computer off in the middle of a post. You will need to run a table repair to fix this. What has happened is one of the Master Keys (or pointers that that are used in index searches) has not been updated and is now out of sync with the data in the database. Here is a link to a Paradox Table repair utility that we use to use to allow our users to repair the tables. http://www.o2a.com/tu.htm You will probably want to create a utility program that the users can run to fix
