Bookmark is not valid Jan 04, 2006 12:03 PM|ktan67|LINK Hello, I hope someone can help me. We are setting up HMC 3.5 (consolidated version) with terminal server. The problem occurs when I try setting https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/26624985/Bookmark-is-not-valid-error-in-Outlook-Exchange.html up Outlook on the Terminal Server. The error that pops up is "The name could not be resolved" and "The bookmark is not valid". I'm using the user@domainname format. From what I've found it appars to be an address book issue - does anyone have any ideas on where I should go from here? OWA works fine for each of the users I've tested Thanks Reply ktan67 None 0 Points 18 Posts Re: Outlook connectivity http://forums.asp.net/t/950924.aspx?Outlook+connectivity+name+could+not+be+resolved+Bookmark+is+not+valid - name could not be resolved. It appears to be a permissions issue of sorts - when logged in as a domainadministrator I can use Outlook and "check names" and have Outlook verify the same names that wouldn't verify when logged in as the user. Would this still be a permissions issue to the GAL? Ken Reply ktan67 None 0 Points 18 Posts Re: Outlook connectivity - name could not be resolved. Bookmark is not valid Jan 06, 2006 12:58 AM&
check your current office group-policy settings and registry for Outlook. to set up Outlook 2003 for the first time Discussion in 'Using Outlook' started by jim_777, Feb 28, 2007. Previous Thread Next Thread Loading... 0/5, 0 votes jim_777 Guest After creating a new user and running Outlook 2003 for the first time the setup wizard comes up with the error "The bookmark is not valid" after entering the server name and username and clicking the "check name" button. We have identified a work around which is to make the user a member of Domain Admins (normally we just make them a member of Domain Users, and after this initial set up can change them back to Domain Users, however this is not an ideal solution long-term as the user might accidently be left as a Domain Admins member. Feb 28, 2007 Flag Post #1 Share labradordude Guest After spending hours on Microsoft web sites and going through these forums I went elsewhere and found an answer that worked. I download MDAC v2.8 and restarted my win2003 server with exchange 2003 sp2. Bingo it works!!! I'll give credit to experts-exchange for the solution. Hope this works for you.
