My pc is set up with Visual Studio 2010 and afterwards I cannot be opened installed VS2012. Both VS installations coexiston the PC. I have not started to use VS 2012 yet. I have no backup of the database. I have tried "repair" from the installation media. I still have the problem. As you do not have a backup, refer 'Creating a New msdb database' as suggested in the link below: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd207003(v=sql.105).aspx This should help you rebuild the msdb database. Also, as mentioned in this link, please note that :- "Rebuilding the msdb database using the instmsdb script will eliminate all the information stored in msdb such as jobs, alert, operators, maintenance plans, backup history, Policy-Based Management settings, Database Mail, Performance Data Warehouse, etc." ---------------------------------------------- Deepes
