It gets an error while attempting to deserialize the session data. –Greg Ogle Nov 11 '11 at 21:06 add a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 4 down vote I can help. The problem is that the ReportViewer control uses Session to store the currently executing report. Once you navigate away from the reports, the item still remains and eventually loses its "execution context", which is the way Report Server caches reports. Therefore, before browsing a report, you should attempt to clear out the Session of these reports, so that there are NO cached reports in the Session, and the ReportViewer control can work properly. You will also find that sometimes when accessing Session.Keys.Count, this error can occur, as again, the execution context has failed. Make sure you do this on the page showing the report!! The 2 options are: if (!IsPostBack) { HttpContext.Current.Session.Clear(); ReportViewer1.ServerReport.ReportServerUrl = new Uri(ReportServerUrl, System.UriKind.Absolute); ReportViewer1.ServerReport.ReportPath = ReportPath; System.Collections.Generic.List

I'm using the default reporting services website instead of embedding reports into my cannot be found application, which has proven a very efficient way to deploy the reports. The OS is Windows Server 2003 and the reports are being viewed on IE8 running XP. It's not a big deal. Refreshing the browser brings the report right up each time. I guess it might be a cacheing issue. It does scare users, so it would be nice to squash this bug. Any ideas? Server Error in '/Reports' Application. I looked at the logs on the Report Server and the error there says userName: mydomain\myusername not found in the database. But, of course, it is in the database - I can access the report from the Web Portal. Any ideas? Another report is experiencing the same behavior now. –JHFB Aug 6 '12 at 15:52 @JHFB this link seems to describe the same sort of behavior that you are experiencing. –swasheck Aug 9 '12 at 18:38 1 @JHFB also, it seems that there could also be a timeout issue. check the activity of the server when you get the error and when you don't get the error. i recommend sp_WhoIsActive –swasheck Aug 9 '12 at 18:41 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote What I have seen in a case like you ask about is you hit a report, and copy the url out and then try to hit it later. Reports have session state, especially if you change paramaters, etc. The url will look like a report url with some funky querystring data added to the end. You can't share that because SSRS can't take your "session state" and then find it later. share|improve this answer answered Aug 15 '12 at 2:29 ScaleOvenStove 1112 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote @zlatan mentions timeout in the context of the SQL performance but we found that in our case we got the error because of
