Since they don't in your case, I suggest doing "dnf clean all", "dnf update", and a reboot so the new kernel will actually be used.Axel Sommerfeldt( 2016-01-05 08:05:41 +0000 )edit 2 answers Sort by ยป oldest newest most voted 0 answered 2016-06-26 14:02:26 +0000 This post is a wiki. I have installled virtualbox before without a hitch. But this time on FC17 64bits, it doesn't work. The installation was completed, but when I try to run it.. got this message: Code: virtual machine iATKOS terminated with code 1. Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005) Component: Machine Interface: IMachine {5eaa9319-62fc-4b0a-843c-0cb1940f8a91} Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908) The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver (vboxdrv) is either not loaded or there is a permission problem with /dev/vboxdrv. Please reinstall the kernel module by executing '/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup' as root. If it is available in your distribution, you should install the DKMS package first. This package keeps track of Linux kernel changes and recompiles the vboxdrv kernel module if necessary So, I run: Code: #/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup Stopping VirtualBox kernel modules [ OK ] Uninstalling old VirtualBox DKMS kernel modules [ OK ] Trying to register the VirtualBox kernel modules using DKMSError! echo Your kernel headers for kernel 3.3.4-5.fc17.x86_64 cannot be found at /lib/modules/3.3.4-5.fc17.x86_64/build or /lib/modules/3.3.4-5.fc17.x86_64/source. [FAILED] (Failed, trying without DKMS) Recompiling VirtualBox kernel modules [FAILED] Then I run the commands about the kernel: Code: yum -y install kernel-devel kernel-headers KERN_DIR=/usr/src/kernels/`uname -r` export KERN_DIR And tried again to run vbox. The error persist. Any suggestion? Thanks! thr
