We imported songs from CD's and it copied them over, but won't play them. Some Games can't be synced anymore.I have tried everything - even restore... at which time the Error -48) started to appear. I have thought about reformatting - another person mentioned on a topic I read. I did disk check and it came up with No IEEE 1394 host controller found. It is still under warranty... do you think this is something they will fix? or try reformatting first (a bit worried about doing this)? An Unknown Error Occurred (-48) permalink Yeah so just about 15 minutes ago, I wanted to put new songs onto my iPod Nano (1GB), as soon as I disconnected it, my iPod had no songs in it at all, they have all been deleted for some strange reason, so I plug it back it and go into iTunes and I got this message: iPod Cannot be synced. An Unknown Error Occurred (-48) I tried googling it for a while, but nothing about error -48. Can someone help me out with this, I tried to re-install iTunes, but that didn't help. When I disconnect my nano, I get this message from my taskbar : Windows - Corrupt File: The File or directory \iPod_Contorl\iTunes\iTunesDb is corrupt and unreadable.
A duplicate file name was specified."Last Updated on November 17, 2011 by SK Some users have reported an issue in which iPhones http://appletoolbox.com/2010/06/itunes-9-2-the-iphone-cannot-be-synced-a-duplicate-file-name-was-specified/ fail to sync with iTunes 9.2. In these cases, sync attempts result in the error message "The iPhone (name) cannot be synced. A duplicate file name was specified." This problem may be accompanied by duplication of music and other media files.Fixes There are two potential fixes for this issue:Remove iToner. As noted in our cannot be previous report on iTunes 9.2 syncing problems, appears that the presence of Ambrosia Software’ iToner software may cause problems with syncing. Navigate to~/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-insand/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins (the Library folders inside your user folder and at the root level of your startup drive) and look for a file callediTonerSupport.bundle. Remove it, then restart, and check to see cannot be synced if iPad syncing occurs more quickly. UPDATE: Several users have now reported that updating to iToner 2.0.6 resolves this issue.Turn off note syncing. In iTunes, navigate to the info tab and deselect the option to sync notes, then sync your iOS device. You may need to do this each time you sync.Feedback? info@appletoolbox.com.Related Posts:Back up / Sync not working: "Session could not be…Voice memos not showing up in iTunes, fixiOS: Lost contacts on iPhone fixHow to sync your iPhone / iPad over Wi-Fi Filed Under: iPhone Tagged With: iTunes, performanceComments Dan Seely saysJune 18, 2010 at 8:18 AM Excellent! I have been plagued with both slow syncs with my iPad and, after updating to iTunes 9.2, with the iPhone syncing issue described above. Removing the iToner bundle has solved both problems. Thanks!Reply Marc Opas saysJune 18, 2010 at 11:02 AM It may fix the problem to just use iToner once. Not sure if it's a permanent fix, but I tried this with v.
