Cannot Connect To The Citrix Xenapp Server Ssl Error 4
DOWNLOAD Symptoms or Error When attempting to launch an application after changing the static cannot connect to the citrix xenapp server socket operation on non socket IP address of the XenApp server hosting the application, the following error message appears: “Unable to launch your application. Contact your cannot connect to the citrix xenapp server. the citrix xenapp server is not accepting connections help desk with the following information: Cannot connect to the Citrix XenApp server. Protocol Driver Error” Solution To resolve the issue, complete the following procedure: Stop the Citrix XTE Server service. Locate the httpd.conf http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX128115 file on the server. For 64-bit version of Windows Sever the file can be located by navigating to the “Program Files (x86)\Citrix\XTE\conf” folder. For 32-bit version of Windows Server the file can be located by navigating to the “Program Files\Citrix\XTE\conf” folder. Open the file, httpd.conf, by using a simple text editor, such as Notepad. Locate any instance of an old IP address of the server and modify it to reflect the http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX131831 new IP address. Save the changes. Start the Citrix XTE Server service. Problem Cause When changing the static IP address of a server the applications fail to launch. One of the causes for this issue is that the httpd.conf file on the XenApp server is not updated with the new IP address of the server. The httpd.conf file is used by the Citrix XTE Server service for Session Reliability. If this file does not contain the correct information, applications fail to launch. Protocol Driver Error when Launching Apps Started by Laban Milyard , cannot connect 17 June 2015 - 07:29 PM Login to Reply 8 replies to this topic Best Answer Laban Milyard , 18 June 2015 - 01:37 PM I think I figured out what was wrong. On the Citrix StoreFront Server (Server 2008 R2), in RemoteApp Manager, the Digital Signature Setting did not have a certificate assigned. I set it to use the storefront self signed cannot connect to certificate and apps now launch externally. Go to the full post
Laban Milyard Members #1 Laban Milyard 6 posts Posted 17 June 2015 - 07:29 PM Just finished an installation of Xenapp 7.6 with Netscaler 10.5. I am able to login and am presented with a list of apps. However, when I try to launch an app I get "Cannot connect to the Citrix Xenapp Server. Protocol Driver Error." I do have an old citrix xenapp server 6.5 running in production completely seperate and in order to get everything to work without breaking ssl I have the new Citrix Netscaler external IP mapped in my hosts file. Is it possible that it's somehow trying to connect to the old server? Netscaler and Storefront are using 2 different FQDNs. StoreFront is using a self signed certificate. Netscaler is using a third party certificate. Apps launch fine internally when connected directly to the store URL. I'm pretty new to Citrix Xenapp so my terminology may not be correct.
