of time...it could be days or weeks. Its like it gets overloaded over time and stops working. When running the ntfrsutl commands the error above results. After restarting the server, Its good again and I can see the ntfrsutl sets etc. This causes my sysvol to cannot connect to the rpc service on computer hyper-v manager stop replicating to the other DC's . I can't restart the RPC service so I'm forced to reboot to fix it each time. This all started when I used this article to fix the ports for RPC and FRS, so my DMZ servers could have a static port, through the FW,to authenticate to the domain. (Symptom was: The servers in the domain were taking very long to long onto) http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727063(printer).aspx I used the following reg settings on all my DC's and assigned ports 49164 (FRS) and 49165 (RPC) [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NTDS\Parameters] "TCP/IP Port"=dword:0000c00c (port 49164) [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NTFRS\Parameters] "RPC TCP/IP Port Assignment"=dword:0000c00D (port 49165) Event logs for FRS has event ID 13508 typically. There are also cases with variations of these messages with ntfrsutl ERROR - Cannot bind w/authentication to computer, (null); 000006d

I am running into event log errors that DFS replication is not able to communicate with the replication partner. Solved DFS troubleshooting Posted on 2010-12-07 Windows Server 2003 Active Directory MS Applications 1 Verified Solution 18 Comments 1,805 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-10 Anyone have any pointers on troubleshooting DFS issues? I recently rebuilt a server, gave it a new name and added it as a DFS replica server for the folder redirection GPO I have (redirects mydocs to the DFS path). After setting it up on the newly built server it seemed to be working as files were getting pushed to the new server - took a while as there is a good 300GB or so, pushed over a p2p T1. I did have one issue with the root share not having the right share permission but that was an easy fix. Since then it seems as though it stopped replicating from one server to another. After checking event logs I get the following - and it looks as though its not only this one DFS root (there are about 6 total, for other files/applications). It also appears it is not just for this one server to the other (not just server a to b, but also server c to d on a different dfs root). So DFS is definitely not happy... DNS seems happy (can ping by name), and ive restarted services and servers. I did noticed there is a service called File Replication Service (thats not usually running), but Distributed File System is the service that is used - despite all the event log
