Error Message cannot connect on socket https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000090181 (25) getsockconnected:unable to connect() to , Connection refused (146) Solution Overview:Manual requests to start backup jobs - immediate or user-directed - are submitted to the bprd daemon on the master server.  If bprd is not running, the connection request will fail and the connecting program will report a status 25.  This type of situation can occur if the bp.conf file on the master server has invalid server entries or if the name resolution services on the master server cannot resolve the entries in a timely manner.Troubleshooting:Determine if the bprd and bpdbm processes on the master server are running and listening for connections.$ bpps -a | egrep 'bprd|bpdbm'    root  871   1  0 15:12:17 ?     0:00 /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bprd   root  887   1  0 15:12:22 ?     0:00 /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpdbm$ netstat -a | egrep 'bprd|bpdbm'    *.bpdbm        *.*         0    0 24576    0 LISTEN  Â
starting the NetBackup Admin Console From: LuptonD AT starcity.com DOT au (Daniel Lupton) Date: Fri, 21 Jan 2005 19:51:43 +1100 We have just migrated our test https://adsm.org/lists/html/Veritas-bu/2005-01/msg00318.html environment from NT domain to Active Directory. Since the NetBackup server was migrated following error is displayed when the Administration console is started: 'The selected host "backuptest" does not have the service BPRD operating (Error 23). Make sure all the services are running on the host." When I click on 'OK' cannot connect the administration console opens but nothing is displayed. I checked the services and they are all running. I then removed the server from the console and then re-added it using the 'browse' button and selecting the server on the AD domain to no avail. I then clicked on 'New Window From Here' cannot connect on in desperation and when the new console opened it works without an issue. After this we rebooted the server again and the same thing occurred. I have attempted to search the Veritas web site but can not find any solution. Does anyone know why this is occurring and how to fix it or avoid it when we migrate our production environment to AD? We are running NetBackup 5.1 on a Windows 2000 server. Thank you in advance.
