Make sure the computer is logged in or that the database service is running. Also make sure the firewall is set to allow Peachtree and Pervasive to run…"The help suggests that this is either a drive mapped to the wrong location or to an IP address instead of a drive letter, sage 50 accounting could not be started or it is a firewall problem. I am mapped correctly and I am behind the same Windows firewall which allows first computer to run. The error does not go away when you turn firewall off on one or both computers. I uninstalled and reinstalled Peachtree on both machines to no avail.Does anybody know how I fix this? Depending upon the mfg and verison, the antivirus may have it's own firewall. If so, the Peachtree Knowledge base has excellent detailed instructions for making the necessary firewall exceptions. How can I resolve this issue? Answer Several virus definition files were updated during late June 2007 that incorrectly identifies SRVANY.EXE as a Trojan Horse. The SRVANY.EXE file is used to launch the Pervasive Service and is located in c:\windows\system32 directory. This issue has been identified and corrected by Symantec with their most recent LiveUpdate. In order to assure

My O/S is Vista (Home Premium), I am unable to make the SmartPosting run, everytime I try http://sagecity.na.sage.com/support_communities/sage50_accounting_us/f/132/t/47922 to start the process within Peachtree it results in pop-up error message, which also states to the start process throgh the Windows Services Console. In Windows Services Console, Peachtree SmartPosting : status- starting, method - automatic. Even if I attempt to start the service manually it results in another pop-up message like "some services may http://cs.pervasive.com/forums/p/11383/38712.aspx be stopped when not in use.................". It never starts either automatically or manually, status remains "starting". am going nuts trying to add additional computers to the existing network. I cannot seem to get the installation location and the mapping address to work together. I have tried everything to no avail. Any suggestions. I am using windows XP and have a server http://forums.peachtreeusers.com/archive/index.php/t-16852.html with a seperate O: drive to handle the storage. Thanks, Chris rick Prindivill08-30-2008, 12:41 PMYou will have installed Peachtree on the host / server first. You will have SHARED the host file folder (Windodws Sharing & Securtiy Tabs set to FULL for all Everyone and System or as applicable) for Peachtree as follows or in a similar configuration i.e. \\Server\ACCTG\. The Peachtree program is installed in \\Server\Acctg\Peachtree and your Peachtree data files are installed in \\Server\Acctg\Peachtree\Company. Now from each workstation, map cannot connect a drive letter to the host / server, I.E. P:\ = \\Server\Acctg. When installing Peachtree on the workstation, use the default pathing for the program and when asked questions related to the WS being the only computer to use Peachtree, indicate No, to hosting the data files indicate no etc. When asked if you have already installed Peachtree on the Host computer indicate Yes and then use the drop down menu to select the mapped drive letter that points to the Host cannot connect to computer. Wait a few seconds and Peachtree will indicate that it has found the datapath on the host and will display that path. You can now proceed to complete the workstation installation. mcslee09-02-2008, 09:04 AMRick, When I start the installation on my workstation It ask's for my serial number. After I put in the # it goes to the Set Installation Location screen. From here it shows me where the program will be loaded and where the Company Data Files are to be located (which shows on the c: drive ). When I try to change it to \\Owserver\oppw\peachtree\Company it then ask's me to Map Drive. This is where I am having problems. It keeps tell me it can't find it. Thanks rick Prindivill09-02-2008, 12:28 PMYou need to map the network drive before you start the Peachtree installation. Go to My Computer and click on TOOLS in the menubar and selct Map Network Drive. mcslee09-04-2008, 06:21 AMGood morning Rick, Nothing. Am I mapping it to the right area (see above path). When I map the drive and start the installation process, Peachtree asks where the data will be stored and I match it to the network path. When I hit Ok it wants to map it again. It says that it has the path and if I want to save it. After I save it we just go back and forth with the mapping. sbrader09-04-2008, 06:23 AMmcslee, The drive cannot be mapped using t
