Canon T3i No Card In Camera
off, It was in auto off state. Pushed shutter button to wake it up and the following sequence of events happened. Fortunately I have managed to recover the photos so nothing lost, but any advice http://www.justanswer.com/video-camera-repair/606hl-cannon-eos-1000d-showing-no-card.html would be appreciated.1. Camera gave Error, Card not formatted in this camera or words to that effect.2. Removed and reinserted card, no error.3. Checked pictures on card, all seemed OK. Thought problem was solved.4. Took picture, after a delay camera gave card error.5. Re-checked pictures on card, camera displayed “no images”!!!6. Checked card with card reader in PC, no files (photo’s) in 100CANON directory!! all the rest looked normal. Card name https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/32595436 was as before, TXT file in root directory was still there, all directories were as before only the 100CANON directory was empty. (therefore card had not been reformatted?).7. Inserted another empty card and camera was OK, But, the file numbering started again from 0001 despite the camera setting of continuous.8. Recovered photos (fortunately) from original card.9. Reinserted original card, and camera worked fine.Bearing in mind the errors and the fact the file naming has reset to 0, it looks to me like a camera error rather than a card error. But I am open to other ideas. I would like to know what happened here because I don’t want it to happen again.Note up to this time the camera/card had been working perfectly no errors viewing and deleting all was OK.Any ideas on what has happened here, and what I should do now to make sure it never happens again, would be welcome. Thanks, Andy Reply to thread Reply with quote Complain ForumParentFirstPreviousNextFlat view Post (hide subjects) Posted by When 1000D gave Card Error and photo's disappeared AndyMo Aug 5, 2009 Re: 1000D gave Card Error and photo's disappeared anothernewb Aug 5, 2009 Re: 1000D gave Card Error and photo's disappeared AndyMo Aug 9, 2009 ForumPar

ERR99: The dread of every photographer! No error on any camera is as dreaded as Error 99. If you shoot Canon and haven't seen it yet, you will. Canons certainly aren't any more prone to errors than any other camera brand, but they are a bit notorious for the infamous Error 99. Learn how to fix it now so when it happens, you aren't stuck shooting a wedding without a working camera! In short, ERR99 on your Canon camera is simply a general error. What error, you ask? That is the difficulty with troubleshooting the famous ERR99. Since it is a general error, it gives you nothing to begin with. But have no fear, I've seen the error enough times that I should be able to point you in the right direction. To fix the error, you can certainly call Canon… but I will tell you exactly what they tell you on the phone. First they will ask you to do a clean reboot, then try switching the lens, and then they will ask you to pay to ship the camera to them, wait four weeks without a camera and then cross your fingers that the repair isn't too expensive. Hopefully it won't get to that p
