Can't install reciever 4.1 for http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/334272-error-code-2738-installing-citrixreceiver/ Windows Started by Caren Dymond , 24 June 2014 - 05:14 PM Login to Reply Reciever uninstall install 3 replies to this topic Caren Dymond Members #1 Caren Dymond 1 posts Posted 24 June 2014 - 05:14 PM Hi When I try to install Reciever on my Vista, 64-bit machine I get the following messages: In the dialogue box: "The https://discussions.citrix.com/topic/353022-cant-install-reciever-41-for-windows/ installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2738." In the log file all the components are installed except: "15:14:11: Error - CComponentManager::GetInstallStatus(493) - Installation NOT successful for 'Self Service Plug-in', error: 1603." I understand there are problems with uninstalling Reciever that may be contributing to this problem. Here's my uninstall process: 1. Uninstall using the control panel 2. Run the ReceiverCleanupUtility - that fails on the registry step and the log file says: "2014-06-24 08:54:03:623 CReceiverCleanup::RemoveRegistryEntries: Load user profile for C Dymond failed" 3. Run MicrosoftFixit.ProgramInstallUninstall 4. Use Regedit to remove everything I can find that says Citrix in the registry 5. Delete all Directories that say Citrix. 6. reboot My latest attempt including uninstalling the Akami download client and doing a manual download from Citrix. Does anyone know what those error codes mean? thanks! My head has many bruises from banging it against the wall! 1193-353022-1819955 Back to top Matthew Francis Members #
