Windows XP fully updated Using AVG 8 Free version 8.0.100 Database 269.23.7/1410 2 Mb Broadband connection via cable from virginmedia.com in UK Windows XP firewall off. Ashampoo firewall used normally but it makes no difference if switched off. Spybot resident usually on but makes no difference if switched off Previously had AVG 7.5 with no troubles at all Allowed AVG 8 Free to uninstal 7.5 March 31, 2009 16:46 Re: Update fails #7 Top trave Senior Join Date: 31.3.2009 Posts: 31 Only use one firewall... two can cause issues. Ashampoo is the better of the two you listed so that is what I'd suggest you use unless you don't like it for some reason. Also, when enabling/disabling a firewall always follow that with a reboot or in some cases your action will not be "active". Also verify your firewall permissions as stated in this http://free.avg.com/ww.faq.num-1334. There is http://www.norman.com/it/business/support/support_articles/command_line_scanner_error_levels_or_return_codes a difference based on your system architecture - x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit). 1. x86 architecture Use the AVGSCANX.EXE program with /scan=%file% /clean parameters: AVGSCANX.EXE /scan=%file% /clean "C:\Program Files\AVG\AVG8\AVGSCANX.EXE" /scan=%file% /clean You can find the AVGSCANX.EXE program command line in the AVG program folder on your hard drive – typically C:\Program Files\AVG\AVG8. Please please can anyone help as i know sooner or later im going to download a file, forget to scan it and then end up with a nice virus!! peter7769, Apr 12, 2008 #1 nameless Registered Member Joined: Feb 23, 2003 Posts: 1,181 When I use this command line, it works fine: "C:\Program Files\AVG Anti-Virus\avgscanx.exe" /heur /arc /scan="%1" Where %1 command line scanner is whatever is being scanned. Some applications (e.g. WinRAR) want you to use %f there, others (e.g. Free Download Manager) require %file% or something else instead. Note that the above points to a non-default installation path. nameless, Apr 17, 2008 #2 peter7769 Registered Member Joined: Oct 31, 2007 Posts: 31 Thanks for the reply, but i am still having trouble, i have attached a screen shot of download manager but i just cant work out exactly what to put in the boxes, please help if you can?? It probably won't work, but it probably won't make it work any worse. :/ I know this sounds like a stupid suggestion, but I've seen a case where silly games had to be played with quotes, even when you'd fully expect them to be required. (I've even seen a case where you had to use a leading quote but no ending quote!) Anyway, you say it's not working. But what, exactly, is happening? Are you getting an error? Home » Supporto » Articoli di supporto » Command line scanner error levels or return codes Command line scanner error levels or return codes Descrizione del problema Using error level or return codes from the command line scanner. Soluzione del problema When finished running, nvcc (and the DOS counterpart NVCCX) returns a given error level (or return code) which can be utilized in for example batch jobs or interpreted by other programs: 0 All OK. 1 File or boot sector viruses found and/or removed. 2 Virus detected in (and removed from) memory 3 No scan area given. 5 Illegal argument. 7 Internal error, the program continued to run. 8 Internal error, the program aborted. 9 Scanning aborted by user. 10 Not all files could be scanned. 11 Corrupted files/archives. Return code 2 and 1 will override all other return codes. This means that even if NVCC has detected an invalid archive file which should make it to return 11, it will return 1 if it encounters infections further out in the scan. Testing return codes in a batch job may for example be done like this: @\norman\nvc\bin\nvcc /C /LF:\nvc.log /l:1 /s /u %1 %2 @echo %errorlevel% >> error.log @echo . @goto error%errorlevel% :error1 :error2 @echo Virus found! @goto end :error3 :error4 @echo Check argument list! @goto end :error7 @echo Internal non-fatal error. @goto end :error8 @echo Internal fatal error. NVCC stopped. @goto end :error9 @echo Scanning aborted by user. @goto end :error10 @echo Some files not scanned - no error. @goto end :error11 @echo Could not open some archive files. @goto end :error0 @echo No error :end Data di pubblicazione:: 2004.01.23 Data di aggiornamento: 2012.10.29 Domestica e piccola aziendale Webshop Supporto Norman Security Suite AVG Internet Security AVG PC TuneUp Rinnova la tua licenza Norman Programmi di installazione Imprese Supporto Norman Security Portal Norman Email Protection Norman Endpoint Protection Norman SecureMail Norman SecureSurf Programmi di installazione Collegamento rapido Contattaci Opportunità di carriera AVG Blogs AVG Internet Security & Performance © Norman AS End user agreement Marchi SitemaMappa del sitoAvg Command Line Scanner Safe Mode
