I browsed the forum and somebody had suggested /ShowInclude has to be spelled with a lower case s /showinclude. But I dont seem to be using that option. The earlier suggestion about pointing did not work. Then I got frustrated and gave up that approach and did something different and got rid of the message. My hope was one of you in the ****space would know under what condition we get this message, I wish it had given more context... I got it when I accidentally put an unclosed double quote into the preprocessor definitions so it would pay to check your project f

Command line error D8300? DocHaydn (Programmer) (OP) 1 Aug 06 13:36 Hello,I'm coding in the C language; running XP pro SP2.After disabling "Pre-compiled headers" in Visual C++2005 express ed., under properties; I was able tocompile and run a ("Hello World!\n"), program. However, compiling a larger program(mail manager), some 300 lines, compiled with the gcc compiler without errors, albeit not run successfully(garbage in buffer gcc); I received 81 errors, and 20 warnings(visual c++).The first error, talks about:_CRT_SECURE_NO_DEPRECATE.After doing some research, I then typed that directivein the preprocesor field, under properties; compiledagain, this time receiving 80 errors etc, the _CRT_SECURE...error disappeared.Doing some more research; I found that I had to include:#define _CRT_SECURE...; compiled again, and received 1error:"CL: command line error D8003: missing sourcefilename."I did more research; but found nothing that pertains tomy specific situation. How do I resolve this problem? Please excuse me, if I'm not in the right forum.Thank you. RE: Command line error D8300? AtomicChip (Programmer) 2 Aug 06 03:41 Hrm..If I try to run cl.exe from the command line, specifying options but no source filename, I get a similar error: "D2003: missing source filename" (I'm running vs2003 though, so the error numbers may be different...).My
