For receiving email there is nothing wrong. This is the error message:Code: Select allAn error occurred sending mail: The http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r18611676-SMTP-server-connect-error-10060 mail server sent an incorrect greeting: Cannot connect to SMTP server x.x.x.x (x.x.x.x:25), Connect error 10060First of all I thought the anti virus is the culprit. But after disabling it for a moment, the email still cannot connect error be sent. The setting of the SMTP server (in Thunderbird) is as such:- Server name: mail.mydomain.com- Port: 25- Connection security: noneI wonder if this is related to Mail Enable. If yes, how to solve it?(I try changing the SMTP server using the one from the ISP (using port 587), and the email then delivered)I believe the change above is temporarily solved the problem, that's why I asked on this forum to make sure. Please advise.Regards. But now, since yesterday morning I am not able to send at all. I called Telus yesterday afternoon and they claim nothing is wrong on their end.I have rebooted my PC, reset my router and modem (SpeedTouch), created a new email account with new PST file and still i can not send. I can ping the smtp server and tracert it fine. · actions · 2007-Jul-4 10:04 am · danfjoin:2005-11-10Abbotsford, BC danf to Battscrew Member 2007-Jul-4 11:55 am to BattscrewThese errors are usually caused by antivirus software.Norton Antivirus is really, really bad for this. · actions · 2007-Jul-4 11:55 am · edmtech9Premium Memberjoin:2004-07-27Edmonton, AB edmtech9 to Battscrew Premium Member 2007-Jul-4 3:14 pm to BattscrewThis is Norton. It's super simple to fix. Find the icon in the bottom right corner, disable it, restart, re enable norton, restart. If it doesn't work then, uninstall norton and go into the mail server setup and fix the proxy settings. · actions · 2007-Jul-4 3:14 pm · Battscrewjoin:2006-01-24Calgary, AB Battscrew Member 2007-Jul-4 7:19 pm I am using the free version of avast. &mid
