Friday, April 13, 2007 9:29 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote I am getting the same error - but only when I change my return type to a cutom object. CLR types work fine - i.e. an IList of Strings, but not, say, MyResponseObj. I'm running the asp.net development server on port 1212, with a wsHttpBinding. Like I said, the problem seems to be with the return type which is marked up with the DataContract - DataMember tags, like my other custom objects that work fine as input objects. I am able to pass in an arbitrarily complex object of custom types no problem - but the server tanks with a custom return type. Any suggestion would

For more error code information, refer to Knowledge Base article 10140 at http://kb.globalscape.com. WSAETIMEDOUT (10060) 10060 is a connection-timeout error that usually appears when the client does not receive a response from the server for a specific command. This error often occurs when you try to connect in PASV mode to a server that prefers PORT for data connections. If you see an error log similar to the http://help.globalscape.com/help/cuteftp8/Socket_errors_10060_10061_10064_10065.htm one below, in the Site Properties of the problem site, click the Type tab, then change the Data Connection Type to Use PORT. COMMAND:> PASV 227 Entering Passive Mode (xxx,xx,xxx,xx,x,xxx). COMMAND:> LIST STATUS:> Connecting ftp data socket xxx.xx.xxx.xx:xxxx... ERROR:> Can't connect to remote server. Socket error = #10060. ERROR:> Failed to establish data socket. If you still receive a 10060 error, the server may be trying to send a listing for a very large directory (with many thousands of files) causing the client to time-out while waiting. Try increasing the time-out value in the Global Options dialog box (Tools > Global Options > Transfer > Reconnect and resume in [ n ] seconds if nothing received ) to a higher value, such as 45 or 60 seconds. The connection fails due to an error or timeout. Verify that the destination IP address is correct. Increase the connection timeout threshold under Global Settings > Connection. Switch to the opposite data connection type (PASV or PORT) under Site Settings > Type tab. Verify that the problem is not local by trying to connect to an alternate server. If a server name was used, verify it resolves to the correct address. If using a local server table for server name resolution, check to see that it doesn't resolve to an obsolete address. Try pinging the address. (See Troubleshoo

The bandwidth manager installation package consists of two components. The first is a system service (also known as server). It should be installed on a computer which you want to control. The second is just a GUI (also known as connect error 10061 client). You should install the bandwidth manager service on the client PC(s) and the GUI on your own PC. Reply Quote Rick Re: connection refused #10061 on any IP address 10 February 2006, 01:43 Thanks, but I was hoping that there would be no need to install anything on the other pc, only on the one where I would be controlling from on the network, otherwise I'm sure there are a half dozen other apps out there that can acomplish the same or more if both client and server service is installed on both pc's. I want to be able to control the bandwith without on another pc withou installing anything or configuring anything on the other pc where the bandwith is been controlled. I could simply change registry settings on the other pc to control bandwith without even installing anything on any pc, therefor, there would no purpose for this application or any other.
