OK, To the point…to do so we are going to use a freeware Software called " DVD Shrink " [ See Wikipedia Link here ] DVD Shrink is a free software application that allows you to backup your DVD disks. You can use this software in conjunction with DVD burning software of your choice, to make a backup copy of any DVD video disk. Do note that DVD Shrink does not burn DVDs! The output from DVD Shrink is saved as files on your hard drive, which you can then burn to a DVD-R using separate burning software, such as the software provided with your DVD-R drive. DVD Shrink is very useful because normally most DVD's prevent you from making copies either by encryption(CSS) or making it so large that they are hard to fit on onto a single recordable DVD-R disk. DVD Shrink overcomes these problems with built-in decryption algorithms(DeCSS) and by modifying or "shrinking" the data from your original DVD. (In my Experiment, it reduced 7.2GB to 4.35GB in about 22 minutes, of course half of it was the encryption data but still it counts!!! ) And did i mention that it was FREEEE!! Ciprian Adrian Rusen | 05/04/2016Share onFacebookGoogle+TwitterPrint We all purchase DVDs and Blu-Rays with all kinds of media content: movies, games, music, software, etc. However, as we use those discs, their quality wanes with time and, after a few years, they become unusable. http://www.digitalcitizen.life/how-make-backup-copy-protected-disc-dvd-or-blu-ray Your only solution is to purchase them again but that costs money one more https://forum.redfox.bz/threads/error-0x80030309-copy-protection-error.50902/ time and it just isn’t fair. You paid for that product already. Isn’t there a way to make a backup copy? Unfortunately not by means of standard disc burning software. In this tutorial, I will cover what I think it is the best alternative for making a backup copy. Trying to make a copy with the copy protection usual disc burning applications doesn’t work I have a DVD with one my all-time favorite movies: The Shawshank Redemption. The disc is quite old - I must have had it for 6 years or more, and well... I would like to make a backup of it, in case the disc becomes way too old and unusable. I started Nero StartSmart Essentials and tried to copy the disc and it said “Copy copy protection error error!”. Then, I fired up ImgBurn and tried to create an image file from the disc so that, later on, I can burn it to another DVD for safekeeping. Immediately, ImgBurn returned an error saying that the disc is copy protected and said that CSS/CPPM protection is being used by this disc. How do I get around it? How to use use and configure AnyDVD HD to remove the copy protection I chose to download and install the 21 days trial version of AnyDVD HD, to see how it would work. During the trial, you receive a prompt each time the application starts up. A small annoyance, nothing else. Once you click on Continue, you can start using the application. AnyDVD HD automatically scans the media that you place into your DVD or Blu-Ray drive, so that it detects its properties and the type of copy protection it uses. Once I opened AnyDVD HD, I noticed in the Status section that it correctly detected my DVD and the kind of copy protection used. Obviously, it was automatically removed. A nice thing is that, if you browse through the program’s settings, you will find options for removing annoying clips with commercials. Don’t hesitate to check the Video DVD, Video HD DVD and Video Blu-ray sections, dep

Copy Protection Error = Shrink, no? Read this please: This kind of thing will happen more often as time goes on, so get used to it using that software for burning. And it does not matter if it worked in the past directly with AnyDVD. Most OEM/third-party burn programs or processing software will NOT support on-the-fly READ and then WRITE, especially with newer DVDs. This means you will run into problems trying to use AnyDVD in the background with these products since they can not handle newer sector protections like CloneDVD2 can. Products like Shrink, 123, DVD X Copy, 1Click, I Copy, Nero, and other products will fail with (for example): - "DVD could not be imported because the ...", - "Disc error", "fail to read from drive...." or " dvd shrink has encountered an error and cannot continue.
