be able to decrypt anything that you want to rip. In the past, legal action has been taken against DVD decrypting software to shut down development claiming it to be illegal. There is however a work around. Rip a DVD the Easy Way with WinX DVD Handbrake is a great application, but because of all the issues with encrypted DVDs, you're much better off getting a solution like WinX DVD ripper, which can not only rip just about any DVD, but can convert it into any format you want really easily. It's literally as simple as inserting your DVD, selecting the output format, and clicking a button. Done. It's definitely worth trying out, but if you don't feel like paying for a solution, you can still use the Handbrake method. DVD Players (libdvdcss.dll) DVD playback software is 100% legal and there are plenty of free ones you can get to play DVDs on your computer. Mac OS X comes with playback built in and Linux can typically install it through the distributions software repositories. This is why HandBrake will decrpyt DVDs on both of those platforms without a separate decrypter. In many versions of Windows, DVD playback functionality is either not included or limited to specific programs (e.g. Windows Media Player). In order to play a DVD you need to

keep getting the Error : "Error 0x80030309 : Copy Protection Error". What do you handbrake encrypted dvd mac do ?? Solution : This is a very common Error you get when you try to copy contents of a dvd encryption software Copyrighted DVD. It is because of a Method called Content Scramble System (CSS) which is used to encrypt the DVD's to prevent their contents from being copied. A little History, CSS is a Digital Rights Management http://www.howtogeek.com/102886/how-to-decrypt-dvds-with-hardbrake-so-you-can-rip-them/ (DRM) system employed on almost all commercially produced DVD-Video discs and was developed primarily by Matsushita and Toshiba, introduced in 1996. CSS utilizes a proprietary 40-bit stream cipher algorithm. However, in October 1999, the CSS algorithm was cracked and posted on the Internet, triggering endless controversies and legal battles Not much has changed since that time as the manufacturers of DVD players and the producers of DVDs have to maintain compatibility https://obinshah.wordpress.com/2011/03/26/error-0x80030309-copy-protection-error/ with the vast amount of material released and changing and adding to this encryption scheme would render a lot of current titles unplayable. The computer program capable of decrypting content on a commercially produced DVD video disc is called DeCSS Enough Jibber - Jabber, I own the DVD and i want a Backup….what do i do ?? OK, To the point…to do so we are going to use a freeware Software called " DVD Shrink " [ See Wikipedia Link here ] DVD Shrink is a free software application that allows you to backup your DVD disks. You can use this software in conjunction with DVD burning software of your choice, to make a backup copy of any DVD video disk. Do note that DVD Shrink does not burn DVDs! The output from DVD Shrink is saved as files on your hard drive, which you can then burn to a DVD-R using separate burning software, such as the software provided with your DVD-R drive. DVD Shrink is very useful because normally most DVD's prevent you from making copies either by encryption(CSS) or making it so large that they are hard to fit on onto a single recordable DVD-R disk. DVD Shrink overcomes these problems with built-in decryption algorithms(DeCSS) and by modi

The dvd plays fine but when I play the vobs or rip it using DVDfab, ripit4me, etc... they always come out with distorted video and audio. The video has dvd shrink copy continuous artifacts, almost like the data stream was corrupt, and the audio speeds and slows down. Anyone know what the copy protection is and how to remove it? I always have the option of using camtasia to rip it but that's not the direction I want to go. video dvd share|improve this question asked Feb 11 '12 at 4:09 Uiy 1144 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote Based on what what little information was provided in the question, here are a few guesses: That is CSS. You need a descrambling/video-cracking program to remove it. The most popular programs for that are DVDFab and AnyDVD (the free DVDShrink could do it as well, but was discontinued a long time ago, so it won’t handle newer protections). The distorted video and audio is due to the CSS (Content Scrambling System), so you need to decrypt before you send it through the compressor/transcoder (ie, before you shrink the video). If you open a VOB file in a hex-editor directly, you will see different bytes than if you open the same file after it is decrypted (no surprise). Play the video with and without encryption and you will see magenta blocks, hear screeches, and so on. If you already tried some programs (DVDFab, RipIt4Me
