(65 results) Something wrong with the disc is the most likely cause, be it a fingerprint or something similar. Either that or try ripping with DVDDecrypter or smartripper to your hard drive first and then load these files into DVDShrink. Quote 15th Feb 200507:11 #4 nickelzy View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message Member Join Date : Feb 2004 Location : United States I agree with Scottie - just use DVD Decrypter to copy the files to your hard rive, and then use DVD Shrink. There are times occassionally when DVD Shrink won't be able to copy your disc; that is when you use DVD Decrypter. However, with that being stated, usually when I get the error you mention, it is often because the disc is really scratched or even cracked (and I didn't notice before trying to copy). Try and clean your disc with a very soft cloth (I use a microfiber cloth that is used for cleaning eye glasses). This is not a DVD Shrink problem. When 3.2 encounters a problem, I just used 2.3. Its weird, but the same disk will work on a older version Quote 15th Feb 200522:26 #6 ronniej962 View Profile View Forum

I have been trying to copy a particular DVD. I am fairly new to the business of copying movies and have managed so far just by using dvd shrink. I have a DVD here that seems to be impervious to all attempts to clone it. Looking on the internet I came across reference to DVD Decrypter and proceeded to download and research how its used. ...no good for this DVD. From there I went to DVD Fab Decrypter....again no success. I have now tried imgburn and still it remains stubbornly out of reach. As soon as it gets to the point where it starts to build I get a message...............Cannot read from file D:\video_ts\vts_01_0/vob Reason: Copy Protection Error - The read failed because the sector is encrypted. I am beginning to assume that this DVD has a new encryptions that no one is yet able to crack.
