Dvd Rip Copy Protection
Linear Mode Switch to Hybrid Mode Switch to Threaded Mode Thread 5th Apr 200609:47 #1 Gabriel View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message dvd backup copy protection Member Join Date : Jun 2002 Location : United States I'm currently running windows xp home on my main computer with a pioneer 107 and an NEC3550. Until a couple of weeks ago, I could back up dvds clone dvd copy protection with dvd shrink with no problems. Now I get error message saying disc is encrypted. By using dvd decrypter or dvd fab I can then shrink the files. On my second computer which runs windows xp professional with no updates installed I can still use dvd shrink with no error problems. As a trial I used the same disc in each computer and it works okay in the one and requires decrypting in the other. The only

new software I've installed on the main machine is McAfee anti virus and firewall from comcast. I tried uninstalling them and still need to decrypt. Does this make sense to anybody? It's really got me stumped. Quote 5th Apr 200611:10 #2 budz View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message DVD Ninja Join Date : Jan 2003 Location : In the shadows..... I know that I can copy using dvd decrypter and DvdFab. What I want to know is why I suddenly have to do it, when in the past I didn't and why I need to do it on one computer but not on the other. Newer DVDs, especially Sony movies that have that crappy ARCoSS protection on them, cannot be ripped by DVDshrink or DVDDecrypter - both of these have been discontinued for some time now and do not handle the new

So I backed up the files using DVD Decrypter, it backed up files totalling 7.37GB. It worked fine. Now, I go back into http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/216275-DVD-Shrink-Problem-Copy-Protection-Error DVD shrink to shrink files to fit on a DVD disc. I select "Open Files", look for the folder where the VOB files etc are and click open. An error comes up saying that, "DVD shrink has encountered an error and cannot continue. Failed to open the file. The system cannot find the file specified" Firstly, why is this happening? How can I shrink the files to fit onto a 4.7GB disk. I have tried a different source dvd using dvd shrink and it is fine, it just happens with one particular dvd. It's not a Black and White world, to be alive the colours must swirl. If you were to give us the name of the DVD you're backing up, maybe someone else has
