Dcom Got Error 1084 Attempting To Start The Service Shellhwdetection With Arguments Unavailable
PM Posted 09 May 2011 - 10:54 AM Hi all. After running Malwarebytes and uncovering a couple of infected items, I quarantined and removed as usual. On the reboot, my system keeps freezing and the admin history says I am encountering a DCOM 1084 error. Can anybody help to tell me what this is please? And how to fix thanks Simon Edited by Flicker, 09 May 2011 - 12:54 PM. Was able to clean most of it with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Also ran super antispyware, Tdsskiller, ccleaner, avast, TFC .. I have ran multiple scans (at least a dozen) of malwarebytes anti-malware. Since the initial clean, each time it finds the following: I select remove & laptop restarts, only to have the same results over and over again. The only symptom I am noticing is the internet pages load dcom got error slowly. Used Hijackthis and analyzer to remove couple of items. Still boots and logins but then blue screen with error 0000003b and the error DCOM got error "1084" attempting to start the service WSearch with arguments appears in the system log. Tried other ram and another power supply still does this. Safemode works ok as I'm sending this while in safe mode. I'm thinking about moving the hard drive to a different computer with acronis to see if it is the motherboard. Hope somebody is familiar with this and if it is some malware that is causing this. The computer is a acer aspire amd 4 gig ram with vista all updates are installed.
