StiSvc is apparently part of either the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) system service or the Still Image Service."The Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) system service provides image acquisition services for scanners and cameras. This service is not a requirement for the baseline server policy." Presumably don't have either of those items connected, but have you tried your camera maybe? Either way, you should be able to stop it by going to: Start > Programs > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services Look for Windows Image Acquisition service in the list. Double-click the entry the Properties dialog opens. On the General tab check that the Startup Type is set to Disabled. in my event log on my Windows Server 2003 Such as: DCOM got error "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled https://teldata.wordpress.com/2007/01/20/what-is-stisvc-getting-dcom-error-in-windows-2003-server/ devices associated with it. "Attempting to start the service StiSvc with arguments"" in order to run the server {jibber jabber} StiSvc = Still Image Service and it's relies on WIA "Windows Image Acquisition" A) http://www.eventid.net/display-eventid-10005-source-DCOM-eventno-612-phase-1.htm Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) *** By default the above service is Disabled in Windows Server 2003 >>> What this service Provides is image acquisition services for scanners and cameras. If your getting a dcom got error that say's it is attempting to start StiSvc you will need to enable "Windows Image Acquisition" in services. This may take place due to a application calling StiScv. You will find some info googled that mentions StiScv.exe which does not exist anymore in Windows XP nor Windows Server 2003. By enabling "Windows IMage Acquisition (WIA)" that will allow StiSvc to run. Cheers, DWS 01/2007 Like this:Like Loading... Related dcom got error Leave a Comment Leave a Comment » No comments yet.
