Read Only Question 0 Sign in to vote Hello DL users, I have a customer using Win2008 Core and when he dcom got error 1084 attempting to start the service termservice with arguments is trying to open remotely Component Services / Computers /
the component has been disabled. Technote (troubleshooting) Problem(Abstract) Unable to add a new jobserver. Symptom Unable to add http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21345465 a Jobserver: The component or application containing the component has been http://challengeofday.blogspot.com/2008/12/component-or-application-containing.html disabled. Resolving the problem Setup DCOM Security (Distributed Component Object Model) on the Jobserver which fails to add. Steps:1. Select Start and then Run and type dcomcnfg. 2. Expand Component Services, expand Computers and right-click My Computer and select Properties. 3. Select COM Security and select Edit dcom got Default under Access Permissions and add the following groups: Administrators, Interactive, System, IUSR and IWAM 4. Select Edit Default under Launch Permissions and add the following groups: Administrators, Interactive, System, IUSR and IWAM 5. Select Okay to return to main window. 6. Reboot the server to have the modifications take affect. If error persists and the server is dcom got error a Windows 2003 server: COM+ (Component Object Model) network access is disabled by default on Windows Server 2003 platforms. On this platform COM+ can be used only locally by default. Use the following procedure to enable Network COM+ access. 1. From the Start menu, select Control Panel and select Add or Remove Programs. 2. Select Add/Remove Windows Components. 3. Select Application Server and select Details. 4. Check the box next to Enable network COM+ access and then select OK. 5. Select Next to complete the Windows Components wizard. 6. Select Finish to close the wizard. COM proxy is on S1. The COM is deployed on S2. When we try to access the COM from S1 we get this error message:Code 80004027 The Component or Application Containing the Component has been DisabledRemedy:1 - The server may has not been setup correctly because COM+ is not enabled.
