The workstation in question is running MSDOS 5.0 One of the users is getting a "4424 - Temporary File Creation Error". The manual states this is can be caused by insufficient file handles, an invalid TEMPPATH or insufficient network rights. So far, I have tried: -Increasing the FILES statement in CONFIG.SYS -Increasing the //F: parameter in the CLIPPER variable -Setting TMP=C:\ -Changing the //TEMPFILE: parameter to C:\ -Making sure the user has ALL rights to the network drive. None of these has helped. I've concluded that the problem is not the logon, since his logon will work on other workstations. Also, other users are not having the problem, https://groups.google.com/d/topic/comp.lang.clipper/bQpRwConkNU including one user with an identical machine. (The problem still occurs if a different user logs in on the problem machine.) Also, the problem only occurs on certain reports. After running the monthly closing, some of the 4424 errors have disappeared. So, my question is this: Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem, other than wiping the computer clean and reinstalling DOS, NetWare, etc? You didn't mention NET.CFG You will need to set the number of handles there also, with FILE HANDLES = 100 Quote:>I've concluded that the problem is not the logon, since his logon will >work on other workstations.
