You might want to wait for somebody to confirm it works with your version of Windows/config. Anyone dungeon siege else having problems getting DS2 working? I'm running Win7x64. First launch attempt it complained that "binkw32.dll was installed in the windows directory and it needs to be installed in the game directory" - so I copied it from windows/system into the steam game folder. Now when I try to launch the game the screen goes black for a moment and I see a row of periods slowly move across the bottom of the screen dungeon siege ii like it's about to load, and BAM: "Dungeon Siege II has stopped working" I love it when steam releases older games. "Don't b!tch at us, b!tch at the developers" they say. Yea, like GPG is going to give a crap about these relics. You'd think Steam would do some QA on this stuff before releasing it on their platform. I just remembered why I've been spending more money @ GamersGate lately. UPDATE: I tried the various compatibility modes offered in windows, and as usual, none had any effect. Running DS2VideoConfig.exe returns a message telling me that "Your hardware configuration is below minimum specifications for Dungeon Siege II and may not run the game optimally. This is most likely because bla bla bla" - too much to type. It goes on to tell me that I either don't have enough video memory or my video chipset does not support DS2's uber-engine. I'm running 2 GTX480's in SLI. Last edited by Think: 04-11-2011 at 04:11 AM.
